What is the difference between the Boost Logic Pro Series 5.2 Forged Pistons and the standard set?

Boost Logic sells the standard 5.2 forged piston in 10:1 or 12.5:1 compression, while the Pro Series 5.2 Forged Pistons come at 12.5:1. Boost Logic does not publish a detailed list of design differences between the two, so ask Bulletproof Automotive to confirm details such as included pins before choosing between them.

Which engines do the pistons fit?

Boost Logic lists fitment for every Lamborghini Huracán model and the 2017 and later Audi R8 with the 5.2 liter V10, which is the second-generation 4S R8. First-generation R8 V10 engines are not listed, so owners of those cars should confirm fitment with Bulletproof Automotive before ordering a set.

Why 12.5:1 compression?

Boost Logic uses 12.5:1 on the Pro Series to improve combustion, power delivery and throttle response. A ratio close to the factory figure keeps the engine responsive off boost. Builds planning very high boost pressure may prefer the 10:1 standard piston for more detonation margin, so match the choice to the turbo kit, fuel and tune.

Are wrist pins included?

Boost Logic does not list the contents of the Pro Series set in its description. The standard Boost Logic 5.2 set ships with heavy-duty wrist pins and clips, and Boost Logic sells optional Pro Mod wrist pins in C350 tool steel separately. Confirm with Bulletproof Automotive what ships with this set before ordering pins or rings.

Do I need a professional engine builder to install them?

Yes. Pistons are fitted with the engine disassembled, and the bores should be measured and prepared by the engine builder so that clearances suit forged pistons. Installing the set is part of a full V10 engine build, usually done alongside rods, head gaskets and a calibration planned for the new power level.

Description

Boost Logic Pro Series 5.2 Forged Pistons for LB724 Lamborghini Huracán and 4S Audi R8

Boost Logic’s Pro Series 5.2 Forged Pistons are forged pistons for the Lamborghini Huracán and the 2017 and later Audi R8 5.2-liter V10, set at a 12.5:1 compression ratio. Where the standard Boost Logic 5.2 forged piston is offered in 10:1 or 12.5:1, the Pro Series comes in the higher ratio, which Boost Logic uses for combustion efficiency, power delivery and throttle response. Boost Logic lists fitment for every Huracán model and the R8 5.2 from 2017 on. It suits a build that wants to keep compression close to factory; an engine planned for very high boost may be better served by the 10:1 standard piston.

Features

Precision forged construction balancing strength and weight
12.5:1 compression ratio for response and power delivery
Material selected for strength and heat resistance under hard use, per Boost Logic
Engineered for precise fitment and reduced friction in the 5.2-liter V10

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
