Which cars does this 61 inch swan neck wing for FK8 Honda fit?

This 61 inch swan neck wing for FK8 Honda fits the 2017-2021 FK8 Honda Civic Type R, as listed on the page. It does not fit the FL5. Confirm your model and model year with us before ordering.

How is the GT-250 Adjustable Swan Neck Wing different from the standard GT-250 for the FK8?

The airfoil is the same GT-250 profile. The standard version sits on pedestals bolted to the underside of the wing, while the swan neck version hangs the airfoil from its top surface. That leaves the underside clear, which is the side of the wing that does most of the work.

Which span suits the FK8, 61in or 67in?

The 61in wing measures 1549mm across and keeps a tighter look on a Civic Type R that sees mostly street use and the odd track day. The 67in version spans 1702mm and reaches further toward the edges of the FK8 rear deck, which suits a car with more front aero to balance it.

Is the Gurney flap already on the wing?

Yes. Each GT-250 leaves APR with a half inch (12.7mm) carbon Gurney flap bonded to the trailing edge using 3M VHB tape. It adds rear load at any given angle and helps the airflow stay attached off the back of the wing, so there is nothing extra to fit.

How much can the angle be adjusted?

The angle of attack sets anywhere from 0 to 15 degrees. Lower settings keep drag down on fast circuits with long straights, and higher settings put more load on the rear tires for tight corners and heavy braking zones. Set both sides to the same position so the wing sits level.

What is the PPF film option, and how long does delivery take?

PPF film is an optional extra for an additional $200, chosen at checkout. The wing is made to order or special order from the manufacturer, so we confirm the estimated lead time after you order. Talk to us first if you have a specific deadline.

Description

APR Performance Carbon GT-250 Adjustable Swan Neck Wing for FK8 Honda Civic Type R (61in)

The 61 inch swan neck wing for FK8 Honda Civic Type R, APR Performance’s carbon GT-250, hangs a 61in (1549mm) airfoil from its top surface, so nothing attaches to the underside of the wing on the 2017 to 2021 Type R. APR shaped the 2D profile in CFD to keep downforce even across the span and lays each airfoil up from woven pre-preg carbon, cured in an autoclave in billet aluminum molds, with a carbon Gurney flap fitted before shipping. A 7.6 to 1 downforce-to-drag ratio makes it a working part for an FK8 that runs track days, time attack or autocross.

Why Swan Neck

On a conventional wing the pedestals bolt to the underside of the airfoil, which is the side that does most of the work. An Adjustable Swan Neck Wing moves the mounts to the top surface and leaves the underside clean, which is how this GT-250 differs from the standard 61in GT-250 for the FK8.

Pedestals and Mounting

The pedestals of this Adjustable Swan Neck Wing are cut from 10mm 6061 billet aluminum and mount on carbon bottom plates made for the FK8, so the wing sits square on the car instead of on a universal base.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
