Does the Signature Exhaust System for F87 need a separate mid-pipe?

No. The Signature Exhaust System for F87 BMW M2 Competition and M2 CS includes a full single mid-pipe and the Active F-brace. It is not designed to work with the separately sold Active Autowerke single or equal length mid-pipes, so order it on its own.

Can I get the equal length sound with this system?

No. The system is built around one 3.5 inch pipe after the downpipes. For the patented equal length sound, Active Autowerke recommends its equal length mid-pipe together with its valved axle-back rear exhaust for the F87, which are designed to work as a pair.

Does it fit the 2016 to 2018 M2?

No. Active Autowerke built this system for the S55 M2 Competition, which the M2 CS shares. The earlier M2 uses the single turbo N55 and a different exhaust layout, so it needs other parts. Check the engine code before ordering.

Does it keep the factory valve?

Yes. The system reuses the factory valve motor, so the car keeps a working exhaust valve after installation. Active Autowerke lists no coding requirement for the valve, and installation needs no permanent modification to the car, so it can be reversed later.

How long is the lead time?

Each system is built to order at the Active Autowerke facility in Miami, Florida, with a lead time of 2 to 3 weeks before shipping. Bulletproof Automotive lists it on backorder with notification and keeps you informed while it is built.

Description

Active Autowerke Signature Exhaust System for F87 BMW M2 Competition and M2 CS

Active Autowerke’s Signature Exhaust System for F87 BMW M2 Competition and M2 CS is a complete system from the downpipes back, designed from scratch for the S55 in BMW’s smallest M car. BMW routes two separate pipes from the turbos to the rear muffler, which wastes the scavenging effect and leaves the turbo lag and the uneven note the M2 Competition is known for. Active Autowerke joins them into one 3.5 inch pipe immediately after the downpipes to keep exhaust velocity high, which it credits with quicker spool, more power and a much smoother sound. Every system is mandrel bent from 304 stainless, fully TIG welded and built to order in Miami, Florida, with capacity for turbo upgrades well beyond stock output.

Design and Performance

The system carries its own full single mid-pipe and the Active F-brace, so nothing else is needed between the downpipes and the tips, and it keeps the factory valve motor. A flow-efficient Y-pipe leads to the rear section and adjustable 90mm double-walled tips, offered in four finishes. Installation calls for no permanent modifications.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
