Are the side wing plates included?

No. The side wing plates and carbon canards are optional extras sold separately. The photos show the spoiler painted in two tones with the side wing plates fitted. The spoiler itself comes with dedicated tapping screws and double-sided tape for mounting.

Does the Type-S Wing Spoiler for GE8 RS cars fit a late model?

No. The Type-S Wing Spoiler for GE8 RS cars is made for the early model 1.5 RS aero bumper, built up to September 2010. The late model RS has its own Type-S front spoiler, and standard grade cars use a different lip.

Why not just add as much downforce as possible?

On a low-powered car like the Fit, excess downforce adds drag that the engine has to overcome. The manufacturer designed the 3D round profile to make downforce at the wing section, balancing grip at the driven front wheels against drag. The optional plates and canards fine-tune it.

Only 10mm below the lowest points at each end of the factory bumper. The manufacturer chose that depth with lowered cars and everyday street use in mind, so it looks low without making the car hard to drive over driveways and speed bumps.

Does it need painting?

Yes. The spoiler is supplied in unpainted black gelcoat FRP. Paint it to match the car, or use a contrast color for the two-tone look in the photos. Paint is not included, so have a body shop finish it before fitting.

Description

J’s Racing Type-S Wing Spoiler for GE8 / GE9 Honda Fit RS Early Model

J’s Racing’s Type-S Wing Spoiler for GE8 and GE9 Fit RS early model cars is made for the pre-facelift 1.5 RS aero bumper. A front-drive car needs traction at the front, so J’s Racing directs downforce and smoother airflow toward the driven wheels to raise cornering ability. The Osaka shop also recognizes that too much downforce on a low-powered car like the Fit simply adds drag, so the new 3D round profile makes its downforce at the wing section. Optional side wing plates and carbon canards let you tune the balance. It suits an early RS owner after real front-end grip, not just a styling change.

Design and Performance

Although the spoiler looks low, it reaches only 10mm below the lowest points at each end of the factory bumper, a depth chosen with lowered street cars in mind. It is FRP in unpainted black gelcoat and is supplied with dedicated tapping screws and double-sided tape. The photos show a two-tone painted version fitted with the optional side wing plates.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
