Does the Type-S Front Spoiler for GE8 RS cars fit the early model?

No. The Type-S Front Spoiler for GE8 RS cars is made only for the late model RS bumper, built from October 2010 with chassis number 1500001 onward. Early RS cars use a separate Type-S wing spoiler, and standard grade late cars have their own lip.

Do I need to remove the bumper to fit it?

No. The manufacturer improved the mounting method so this spoiler installs without taking the bumper off, which earlier designs required. It uses the factory clips, so the bumper itself needs no cutting, drilling or other modification, and the job stays simple for a home installer.

Will the spoiler touch the ground on a lowered car?

It is designed not to. Although it looks low, the manufacturer set its minimum ground clearance with lowered street cars and circuit curbs in mind. Very low ride heights and steep driveways can still bring any front spoiler into contact, so approach slopes at an angle.

Is paint needed before fitting?

Yes. The spoiler is FRP with an unpainted black gelcoat finish, and paint is not included. Have it painted to match the car or in a contrast color before installation, since it is easier to finish off the car than after mounting.

What does the spoiler do aerodynamically?

The 3D round wing profile straightens airflow at the front of the car and generates downforce. The manufacturer does not publish downforce figures, so the gain is described qualitatively. It also transforms the look of the factory front end into a cleaner, lower nose.

Description

J’s Racing Type-S Front Spoiler for GE8 Honda Fit RS Late Model

J’s Racing’s Type-S Front Spoiler for GE8 Fit RS late model cars fits under the factory RS bumper of the facelifted car and gives it the wing spoiler shape that has defined J’s Racing Type-S aero. Its 3D round profile straightens airflow and creates downforce at the front. It looks low, but J’s Racing set its ground clearance for lowered street cars and for running over circuit curbs. The biggest change from earlier J’s Racing spoilers is installation: it goes on without removing the bumper. It suits a late RS owner who wants a sharper nose without replacing the whole bumper.

Tips

Because the spoiler mounts with factory clips, the bumper needs no cutting or drilling, and the job does not require pulling the bumper off the car. Paint the spoiler before fitting, since it is supplied in unpainted black gelcoat FRP, then line it up and secure it with the clips.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
