Which Civic models do the Rear Upper Arms for FD2 fit?

The Rear Upper Arms for FD2 are designed for the JDM FD2 Civic Type R sedan, built from 2007 to 2010 with the K20A engine. They may not fit the US-market FG Civic. If your car is a US Civic Si or an imported FD2 with altered suspension, contact Bulletproof Automotive before ordering so fitment can be checked.

Is an alignment needed after fitting the arms?

Yes. Changing arm length changes rear camber, so the car must be aligned once the arms are installed. The manufacturer asks that the specified torque values are used, that the bolts and nuts are checked at regular intervals, and that they are checked again before every circuit session.

What material are the FD2 arms?

The arms are steel, with pillow ball joints and a turnbuckle body that sets the length. The manufacturer does not publish a weight or an adjustment range in millimeters or degrees, so Bulletproof Automotive does not quote one. The point of this design is freedom to set rear camber rather than saving weight.

Who needs adjustable rear upper arms?

They suit an FD2 that is lowered, runs high-grip tires or sees circuit and sports driving, where a wider alignment range than the factory arms offer pays off. The manufacturer describes them as a must for that kind of use. On a stock-height car driven mostly on the street, the factory arms are usually adequate.

What comes in the box?

One right rear upper arm and one left rear upper arm, enough for one car. The manufacturer lists only the two arms in the set, so ask Bulletproof Automotive about mounting hardware before installation day, and budget separately for the alignment that has to follow.

Description

J’s Racing Rear Upper Arms for FD2 Honda Civic Type R

J’s Racing’s Rear Upper Arms for FD2 Civic Type R sedans swap the fixed factory arms for steel turnbuckle arms running pillow ball joints, so the arm length, and with it rear camber, can be set wherever the driver and tires need it. That wider setting range opens up alignment choices the factory parts cannot reach, and the Osaka Honda specialist calls the arms essential for circuit and sports driving. They come as a left and right pair. They are the right buy for a lowered FD2 that sees track days; a stock-height street car rarely needs this much adjustment.

Tips

Fit the arms to the specified torque values, then have the car aligned, because any change in arm length moves rear camber. Once they are in, check the bolts and nuts for tightness at regular intervals, and J’s Racing asks owners to repeat that check before every circuit session. Write down the final arm length on each side so the setting can be restored after other suspension work.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
