Will these canards fit a factory S2000 bumper?

No. They were designed only for the Type-S front bumper and cannot be installed on the factory bumper or on bumpers from other brands. If your car does not already have the Type-S front bumper, it has to be purchased separately before these canards can be fitted.

What do the Type-S Twin Canards for AP1 cars do?

The Type-S Twin Canards for AP1 and AP2 cars add front downforce at the corners of the bumper. The manufacturer describes them as a special part for dramatically improving cornering speed. More load on the front tires helps the nose hold its line, especially on a car that already runs a rear wing.

Is mounting hardware included?

Yes. Mounting bolts and nuts are supplied with the canards, so no extra fasteners need to be sourced for a standard installation. The canards are designed specifically for the Type-S bumper, so confirm that bumper is on the car before ordering. Paint or clear coat, if wanted, is not included.

What are they made of?

The canard wings are carbon FRP. The manufacturer says they are extremely light yet strong enough in structure to handle intense downforce. No weight is published, so the listing does not quote one. The source does not describe the surface finish.

Do I need a rear wing to run canards?

Not strictly, but balance matters. Adding front downforce without matching grip at the rear can make the car turn in more sharply and feel loose at the back on fast corners. It makes sense to plan front and rear aero together rather than adding one end alone.

Description

J’s Racing Type-S Twin Canards for AP1 / AP2 Honda S2000

J’s Racing’s Type-S Twin Canards for AP1 and AP2 S2000s are carbon FRP dive planes designed exclusively for the Type-S front bumper. J’s calls them a special part for raising cornering speed, and the logic is simple: more front downforce lets the nose hold a tighter line mid-corner. The carbon wings are very light, yet built strong enough to carry the loads that heavy downforce puts through them. They make sense for a Type-S car that already has a rear wing and needs the front to keep up. Without the Type-S bumper they cannot be used.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
