Is the aluminum net included with the hood?

No. The aluminum net is sold separately. Hood pins are not included either; the hood works with the factory catch, but the manufacturer recommends pins for sports driving. The FRP version also needs paint, which is not included, so budget for those items.

How much does the Type-S Aero Hood for DC2 cars weigh?

The Type-S Aero Hood for DC2 cars weighs about 7kg in the Carbon and FRP and the FRP versions, against about 14kg for the factory hood. No figure is published for the Full Carbon version, so its weight is not listed here.

What is the difference between the three options?

Carbon and FRP pairs a carbon top surface with an FRP underside. FRP uses FRP on both faces with a black gelcoat finish and is meant to be painted. Full Carbon uses carbon on both the top and the underside for the highest grade finish.

Does it use the factory hood latch?

Yes. The hood is designed for the factory hood catch and the normal striker, so it opens and closes like the original panel. For sports driving the manufacturer recommends adding hood pins as a backup, and those are a separate purchase.

Will it reduce engine temperatures?

The manufacturer states that the shape creates turbulence above the hood that draws hot air from the engine bay, reliably lowering coolant and intake air temperatures against the factory hood. No temperature figures are published, so results depend on climate, setup and how the car is driven.

Description

J’s Racing Type-S Aero Hood for DC2 Honda Integra Type R

J’s Racing’s Type-S Aero Hood for DC2 Integra Type R is shaped to create turbulence over its top surface, which pulls hot air out of the engine bay; J’s Racing says this reliably lowers coolant and intake air temperatures compared with the factory hood. A two-layer structure keeps strength equal to stock, while the Carbon and FRP and the FRP versions weigh about 7kg against roughly 14kg for the factory panel, halving the mass at the very front of the car. The carbon versions are laid from a single piece of carbon cloth for a clean finish. It makes the most sense on a Type R that works hard in hot weather or at the track.

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
