The GrimmSpeed Version 2 Bypass Valve for VA WRX and SJ Forester XT owners is a CNC-machined billet 6061 aluminum replacement for the plastic factory valve on the 2.0L FA20DIT, and it answers a problem GrimmSpeed measured on the bench: stock FA20 valves leaking internally at as little as 8 psi. Design and Construction

GrimmSpeed rebuilt this second-generation valve around reliability. A lighter hard aluminum piston replaced the V1 brass part, its shape was revised to remove failure points found in the first version, and spring tension was adjusted after more testing. GrimmSpeed began in 2006 in a single-stall garage in Maplewood, Minnesota, porting and polishing Subaru manifolds.
