Can the Cover Vents for McLaren 720S Spider be fitted to a Coupe?

No. RYFT makes the Cover Vents for McLaren 720S Spider cars for the open car only. The Coupe has a fixed roof and a different rear deck, so RYFT offers it two separate parts instead, a rear engine hatch and a rear engine vent cover, both listed for the 720S Coupe.

Are the RYFT Spider vents a cooling modification?

No. RYFT lists the vents as carbon styling parts for the rear engine cover of the Spider and does not describe them as a cooling modification. Bulletproof Automotive confirms fitment details with RYFT before ordering, so the vents are checked against the factory openings and the M840T engine bay keeps the airflow McLaren designed.

Why does the 720S Spider need its own engine cover parts?

McLaren gave the Spider new rear bodywork to house its one piece carbon retractable hardtop, with glazed flying buttresses and a tonneau cover over storage space. The engine cover area is shaped around that layout, so RYFT builds Spider specific vents rather than adapting the Coupe hatch and vent cover.

Should a specialist install the Spider engine cover vents?

Yes. The vents sit near the roof stowage area and the engine bay, so they must be fitted without disturbing the roof mechanism or any seals. A McLaren specialist will protect the nearby paint, align each vent evenly and cycle the roof afterwards to confirm everything clears.

How should carbon vents over the engine be maintained?

These vents see engine heat from below and sunlight from above, especially with the roof lowered. Wash them only when the car is cool, use a pH neutral shampoo and a soft brush in the openings, and protect the carbon with a UV stable ceramic coating rated for warm surfaces.

Description

RYFT Carbon Fiber Rear Engine Cover Vents for McLaren 720S Spider

RYFT’s rear engine cover vents for McLaren 720S Spider cars are made for the part of the open car that McLaren redesigned most. To make room for the retractable hardtop, the Spider gained new rear bodywork with a tonneau cover, and its upper structure sits close to the intercoolers and intake plenum of the V8, still leaving about two cubic feet of storage with the roof raised. RYFT shapes these vents for that layout, so a Spider owner gets carbon over the engine area without borrowing Coupe parts.

Design

Where the Coupe takes a separate RYFT engine hatch and vent cover, the Spider gets this single set of vents, priced at 2,200 dollars. RYFT lays them up in 2×2 twill and gives them the sharper curves of its P1 inspired 720S program, and they sit in the same view as the Spider bridge vents whenever the roof is folded away.

Features

Rear engine cover vents in 2×2 twill carbon fiber
Shaped for the tonneau and rear deck of the 720S Spider
The Spider counterpart to the RYFT Coupe hatch and vent cover

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
