How do the Bridge Vents for McLaren 720S Spider relate to the retractable roof?

RYFT designed the Bridge Vents for McLaren 720S Spider cars specifically for the open car, whose one piece carbon hardtop folds away in about 11 seconds. Bulletproof Automotive confirms fitment details with RYFT before ordering, and the installer should cycle the roof fully after fitting to check every piece clears the mechanism.

Can the Spider bridge vents be used on a 720S Coupe?

No. RYFT makes a separate six piece set for the Coupe, and the Spider set fits only the open car. McLaren redesigned the Spider bodywork behind the cabin with glazed flying buttresses and a tonneau cover, so the bridge area of the two body styles takes different parts.

How many pieces come in the Spider set?

The RYFT Spider set contains six carbon fiber pieces, supplied together under part number 29-20-1017. They are meant to be installed as a group so the whole rear bridge area carries the same two by two twill, rather than mixing RYFT carbon with the factory finish on some openings.

Should a specialist install the Spider bridge vents?

Yes. The pieces sit close to the roof mechanism, the buttresses and the tonneau cover, and each must be aligned with the others. A McLaren specialist will protect the glass and paint, fit the pieces in the right sequence and test the roof through its full movement afterwards.

How should carbon on an open car rear deck be maintained?

A Spider rear deck sees more direct sun than most carbon on the car, especially with the roof down. Protect the pieces with a UV stable ceramic coating or paint protection film, wash with a pH neutral shampoo, and use a soft brush to clear dust from the vent edges before drying.

Description

RYFT Carbon Fiber Bridge Vents for McLaren 720S Spider

RYFT’s bridge vents for McLaren 720S Spider cars are a six piece carbon set drawn for the open car rather than adapted from the Coupe. When McLaren created the Spider it built new rear bodywork with slim glazed flying buttresses and a tonneau cover, under which about two cubic feet of storage remains with the roof up. That reshaped rear deck is where these pieces live, and they suit the Spider owner who wants the part of the car most visible with the roof down to carry RYFT carbon.

Design

With the roof stowed, the rear deck of a 720S Spider is in view from the driving seat and from every angle outside, so its openings carry more weight than they do on the Coupe. RYFT splits the job into six pieces in 2×2 twill, priced at 3,600 dollars against 4,500 dollars for the Coupe version, and keeps the sharper P1 inspired curves of the wider program.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
