The DC5 NTR-R3 Coilover Kit from Nitron gives the Acura RSX Type S and Honda Integra Type R four adjustments at each corner, high speed and low speed for both compression and rebound, so the dampers can be set for a grippy circuit one weekend and a rougher road the next. Hose-connected reservoirs are used at the front and rear, and adjustable spring perches set ride height and corner weights. The kit is built for the OEM rear suspension type, and it is aimed at owners who plan to keep adjusting the car as they learn what it wants.

Specialized Bi-Axis Hose Fittings

On a remote reservoir damper, the hose is the part that does not forgive a bad angle. Nitron fits Bi-Axis connectors that rotate 720 degrees on two axes, so the hose can be turned to leave the damper in the direction it needs to go. It can then run to the reservoir on a natural line, not forced round a tight bend or left pulling on the fitting. That keeps the install cleaner and keeps stress off the hose as the suspension works.

The NTR-R3 gives you control over what each damper does at two different speeds of movement. Low speed compression and rebound manage the car’s body motion, meaning how it rolls into a corner, dives under braking, and squats on the throttle. High speed compression and rebound manage sharp, sudden inputs, such as a bump, a curb, or a ripple in the road. Because the four settings do not depend on each other, you can change one without undoing the others, and you can keep a record of your settings for each track or tire. The dampers are passive nitrogen-pressurized monotubes with remote reservoirs, hand assembled to order in the UK and supplied with race springs. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
