Do the Type-S Side Skirts for DC5 cars come painted?

No. The Type-S Side Skirts for DC5 cars arrive in black gelcoat FRP with either a carbon or an FRP under panel, and paint is not part of the order. If you want them color matched, have a body shop prep and paint the FRP skirt sections before the set goes on.

Will these side skirts fit a US-market Acura RSX?

Yes. The RSX and the Japanese Integra Type R share the DC5 chassis, and the US distributor files this part under the RSX on its price list. The Japanese catalog lists it for all DC5 production, early and late. Tell us if your car already wears aftermarket sill trim.

What is the difference between the Carbon and FRP options?

Both use the same black gelcoat FRP upper skirt. The difference is the split under panel: the Carbon option uses a carbon panel and the FRP option an FRP panel. Shape, fitment and the replaceable two-piece design are identical, so choose on looks and budget.

What happens if I scrape the lower edge on a driveway?

The skirt is split so the lower panel takes the hit. If it is damaged by contact with the road, only that under panel needs replacing rather than the whole skirt, which keeps repair costs down on a lowered car. Ask us about a replacement panel if you need one.

Do I have to lower the car for the skirts to work?

No. The shape helps the underbody hold negative pressure without forcing the ride height to its limit, because the Type-S Side Skirts for DC5 chassis cut the air spilling in from the sides. They still look best on a car that already sits at a sensible sporting height.

Description

J’s Racing Type-S Side Skirts for DC5 Honda Integra Type R and Acura RSX

J’s Racing’s Type-S Side Skirts for DC5 Integra Type R and RSX owners tackle a problem every lowered car meets: keeping pressure under the floor low without dragging the sills over every driveway. Developed in Osaka as part of the Type-S aero package, the skirts carry the front bumper’s shape down the flanks, effectively widening the floor and limiting air that curls in from the sides, so the underbody holds negative pressure without an extreme drop in ride height. They suit a coordinated Type-S build or a track car on sensible springs; on a stock-height commuter the gain is mostly visual.

Construction

Each side pairs an upper skirt in black gelcoat FRP with a split under panel, carbon or FRP depending on the option. If the lower edge meets a curb, usually only that panel needs replacing. The factory jacking points stay usable and overall body width is unchanged.

Features

Profile follows the Type-S front bumper to widen the effective floor area
Limits side airflow so the underbody keeps negative pressure
Two-piece build with a separately replaceable under panel
Black gelcoat FRP upper skirt with a carbon or FRP lower panel
Retains the factory jacking points

About J’s Racing

J’s Racing was established in Osaka in 1989, as VTEC engines and lightweight Civics and Integras were changing what a Honda could do, and it has built parts for Hondas ever since. The company develops engine response, suspension, braking, cooling and aerodynamics together as one system, then proves the parts in time attack, gymkhana, endurance and circuit racing. Its Fit lapped Tsukuba Circuit in 1’00.459, and its naturally aspirated AP1 S2000, the Maou car, became the company’s reference build for the Honda roadster. Every J’s Racing part is designed and tested in Japan, and J’s Racing USA in Carson, California handles distribution in the United States.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
