How does the TCM Carbon Fiber Intake Package differ from the aluminum version?

Both packages pair the same Accessport V3 with TCM Flashing with a COBB intake. The TCM Carbon Fiber Intake Package uses the Redline Carbon Fiber Intake System w/ HCT, with a carbon lid and tubing in 3k 2x2 twill, black couplers and black hardware. The aluminum version uses powder coated tubing and a composite lid. COBB rates both filters at 165 percent more surface area than stock.

Is the carbon fiber intake street legal in California?

Yes. This package carries California Air Resources Board Executive Orders D-660-217 and D-660-245, which allow sale and use on emissions controlled vehicles in all 50 states when installed and used according to the COBB application guide. The tubing also retains an OEM-grade HydroCarbon Trap element, so factory vapor filtering stays in place.

Is the filter reusable?

Yes. COBB describes the dual-inlet, high flow filter supplied with the Redline intake as reusable, so it is serviced and refitted rather than replaced at each interval. Whenever the filter comes out, check the black silicone couplers and stainless clamps as well, so the induction stays sealed between the carbon lid and the turbo inlets.

Do I have to flash the transmission?

No. On 2017-2019 trucks the ECU and TCM are separate units, and the Accessport asks you to select a map for each one and flashes them individually. An owner can keep factory shifting with Simulated Stock or choose COBB OEM+, which keeps skip-shifting in Normal mode, or COBB Sport, which removes most of it and raises shift points.

Which trucks does this package fit?

COBB confirms it for USDM 2017, 2018 and 2019 Ford F-150 trucks with the 3.5L EcoBoost. The Redline intake by itself also fits the 2020 3.5L, but the Accessport in this package is specific to the 2017-2019 years, when Ford still used separate engine and transmission controllers.

Description

COBB Tuning Stage 1+ Redline TCM Carbon Fiber Intake Package for P552 Ford F-150 3.5L EcoBoost

COBB Tuning’s TCM Carbon Fiber Intake Package is the Stage 1+ set for an owner who opens the hood as often as they press the throttle: a Redline intake in 3k, 2×2 twill carbon with a gloss clear coat, paired with an Accessport that flashes both the engine and transmission computers of a 2017-2019 F-150 3.5L EcoBoost. COBB describes the Redline system as giving the benefits of its standard intake in a lighter material, so the extra spend over the aluminum package buys the carbon and its finish, not additional power.

Carbon Construction

Every carbon piece in the Redline Carbon Fiber Intake System w/ HCT is made from 3k tow in a 2×2 twill weave and finished in gloss clear. A bespoke carbon airbox lid takes the place of the factory part and holds a reusable dual-inlet filter with 165 percent more surface area than stock.

Emissions

COBB fitted an OEM-grade HydroCarbon Trap element into its own retaining cage on the tubing, so the TCM Carbon Fiber Intake Package keeps factory vapor filtering while flowing more air.

About COBB Tuning

COBB Tuning was founded by Trey Cobb in 1999 in Rockwall, Texas, as a Subaru performance shop in the back of his father’s tire shop, and is now headquartered in Austin, Texas. In 2004 COBB introduced the Accessport, a handheld ECU tuning device that flashes COBB’s off-the-shelf maps or a custom tune and doubles as a real-time gauge and datalogger. The range has since grown from Subaru to Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi and Toyota platforms, with intakes, intercoolers, exhausts and flex fuel kits engineered alongside the tuning, and many COBB parts carry California Air Resources Board Executive Order numbers for use in all 50 states.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
