The Nitron BMW E30 NTR-R3 Coilover Kit is for the E30 that gets driven hard enough to need more than a single-dial damper can offer. The car is light, balanced, and communicative, and it exposes the limits of a combined compression and rebound adjuster quickly once the springs go firmer and the car sees track days, with the setup that feels right over a rough surface never quite matching the one that controls the body in a corner. Nitron’s NTR-R3 splits those adjustments, with independent high and low speed compression and rebound at each corner, so sharp hits and the slower movements of weight transfer can be tuned on their own terms. Hose reservoirs at the front and rear add oil capacity so damping holds through a long session, and because the reservoirs mount remotely from the damper, they can be placed where there’s room for them. The front works with the customer’s own OE front suspension legs, and the rear is specified as a coilover, combining the spring and damper in a single unit in place of the separate parts the E30 carries from the factory, with adjustable top mounts so the alignment can be set up for how the car is driven. It fits the non-M3 range, the 318i, 318is, 325, 325e, 325es, 325i, 325is, and the all-wheel-drive 325ix.
Specialized Bi-Axis Hose Fittings
Every reservoir hose on the Nitron NTR-R3 for the E30 connects through a Nitron Bi-Axis fitting, which rotates 720 degrees at the damper end and at the reservoir end instead of fixing the hose at one angle. On an E30 running firm race springs, the front legs and the coilover rear are moving through their full travel all the time, and a hose that can’t turn with that movement ends up twisting or bending hard right where it leaves the fitting. The Bi-Axis design lets each hose settle into whatever position the damper puts it in, from full droop to full compression at all four corners, so the lines stay free of kinks and the fittings aren’t left to wear out as the car is driven on the road or at the track.
Unique Technology
Each Nitron NTR-R3 damper is a monotube design pressurized with nitrogen gas, which keeps the oil from aerating and holds damping consistent as temperatures climb. The piston and shim work came out of motorsport programs and is tuned for the weight and spring rates of an E30 rather than borrowed from a generic BMW curve, and the separate hose-fed reservoirs give the oil room to work through repeated hard laps without fading.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates.
