Active Autowerke’s Maad Maxx Rear Exhaust for F80 / F82 / F83 BMW M3 / M4 is the valved, three-can version of the F8X rear section the Miami company engineered to get rid of the weed eater rasp of the S55. Where BMW relies on a middle silencer and a rear muffler with reflection chambers that send gas from one side to the other, Active Autowerke uses two mufflers forming one large resonance chamber, so the banks cross over freely. Flex joints soak up vibration, and every section is test-fitted on Active Autowerke’s F8X fixture. Made in the USA, it suits owners who want a deep, aggressive rumble, and it does its best work with an Active mid-pipe ahead of it.

Active Autowerke was founded in Miami, Florida in 1981 by brothers Mike and Karl Hugh as a BMW service shop, and turned to performance in late 1995 when Karl, a University of Miami engineering graduate, led its first M3 and 325i turbo kits. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule.
