Which compression ratio should I choose for the Boost Logic Forged Pistons for LB724 Huracán and 4S R8?

The Boost Logic Forged Pistons for LB724 Huracán and 4S R8 come in 10:1 and 12.5:1. The lower 10:1 ratio leaves more margin against detonation under high boost, while 12.5:1 stays close to the factory compression for more off-boost response. Confirm the choice against the turbo kit, fuel and tune planned for the engine before ordering.

Do these pistons require sleeving the block?

No. Boost Logic designs these pistons to run in the OEM 5.2 liter V10 block without sleeves. That avoids the machining and cost of a sleeved block, although any engine build still needs the bores measured and prepared by the engine builder before the pistons are fitted.

How much power can the pistons handle?

Boost Logic rates the forged pistons for power outputs above 2,000 wheel horsepower. Reaching that level depends on the rest of the build, including rods, turbochargers, fuel system, drivetrain and tuning, so the rating describes the headroom of the pistons rather than a figure the pistons deliver on their own.

What comes in the set?

The set contains ten forged pistons, one for each cylinder of the V10, along with heavy-duty wrist pins and clips. Boost Logic does not list piston rings or connecting rods as included, and it sells optional Pro Mod wrist pins in C350 tool steel separately for builds that want a stronger pin.

Do they fit the first-generation Audi R8 V10?

Boost Logic lists fitment as every Lamborghini Huracán and the 2017 and later Audi R8 5.2 liter, which is the 4S generation. First-generation R8 V10 engines are not listed, so owners of those cars should confirm fitment with Bulletproof Automotive before ordering a set.

Description

Boost Logic 5.2 Forged Pistons for LB724 Lamborghini Huracán and 4S Audi R8

Boost Logic’s Forged Pistons for LB724 Lamborghini Huracán and 4S Audi R8 are a ten-piston set for the 5.2-liter V10, built for owners taking the engine far past factory output with boost. Boost Logic rates the set for more than 2,000 wheel horsepower and designs it to run in the OEM block without sleeves, which keeps a big-power build simpler than one that needs the block machined for liners. The set ships complete with heavy-duty wrist pins and clips, in a choice of 10:1 or 12.5:1 compression. On a naturally aspirated V10 it is more piston than the engine needs; the design brief is a turbocharged build.

Construction

Each piston is forged rather than cast, which is the construction Boost Logic relies on to survive the cylinder pressure of a boosted V10. The set is designed for the factory bore with no sleeves, and Boost Logic offers optional Pro Mod wrist pins in C350 tool steel for builds that want more margin at the pin.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
