The ADRO 992.1 GT3 ARD Front Intake Panel is the upper half of ADRO Racing Division’s front-end aero solution for the 911 GT3 (992.1, all trims), and it works as one surface with the ARD race front splitter beneath it. Where the splitter manages air under the nose, this panel controls what the bumper openings do with the air passing through them, and the two were solved together rather than designed as separate parts. Like the rest of the ARD program its geometry came out of ADRO’s in-house AOX adjoint CFD software and was calibrated on track at Cadwell Park with Formula 1 driver Liam Lawson. It is laid up in prepreg carbon fiber to ADRO’s OEM fitment standard.

Engineered by Algorithm

AOX, ADRO’s Aerodynamic Optimization eXperience software, uses advanced adjoint methods to search for optimal aerodynamic geometry against a defined objective. ADRO sets the downforce target, the balance the car needs to hold and the physical limits the surface may move within, then the solver runs repeated CFD iterations, moving the geometry incrementally until it converges on the best available answer. The intake panel’s surfaces are an output of that process rather than a styling exercise, which is what separates the ARD line from ADRO’s street aero.

Track Validation

Before the ARD package reached production ADRO took it to Cadwell Park in the United Kingdom and calibrated it with current Formula 1 driver Liam Lawson, whose feedback shaped the final setup. ADRO reports the complete AOX package generates 2.3 times the downforce of a stock GT3 in its high downforce track setting for a 0.28 increase in drag, measuring 2888N at 180kph against 598N stock, with a deliberate rearward balance shift that suits the GT3’s weight distribution. ADRO also recorded mid-corner speed gains above 20kph in corners taken over 130kph. Those figures describe the full package rather than the ADRO 992.1 GT3 ARD Front Intake Panel alone.
