Moshammer Tradition RS Aero Kit turns the wide body 997.1 into the car the arches always implied, without a single line that looks borrowed from a tuning catalogue. The set is four pieces: a front spoiler, side skirts made specifically for the wide body sills, a fixed ducktail for the deck lid and a rear diffuser for the broad rear valance. Moshammer builds them in Berlin to an OEM+ brief and states optimal aerodynamic properties for the complete package, which is the company’s way of saying that the aerodynamics and the appearance were solved together rather than in sequence. The kit arrives unpainted with its mounting material and a TUV parts certificate (§19.3), and it installs on original screw points with a special glue where the design asks for it. On a Carrera 4S the effect is presence, held at exactly the level a discerning owner would want it.

Design and Presence

Wide body 997 cars read broader across the hips than the rear wheel drive shells, yet the standard lower panels never quite acknowledge it. Moshammer’s skirts, spoiler and diffuser bring the lower body into agreement with the arches, and the ducktail crowns the whole thing with the most recognisable rear profile in Porsche history. The composition is deliberately quiet, so what people notice is the stance rather than the parts.

Aerodynamic Function

The package is described by Moshammer as delivering optimal aerodynamic properties, and it does so with entirely passive surfaces. The front spoiler orders the air arriving at the nose, the wide body skirts keep it attached along a longer and broader flank, and the diffuser and ducktail work together over the rear axle. Because nothing is adjustable, the car behaves the same on a Sunday morning as it does after a long autobahn run.

Engineering and Fitment

Moshammer produces these components in Berlin in small runs, then ships them unpainted with the mounting material so the colour and finish decision stays with the owner. Installation is at the OEM screwing points with a special glue where required, and no cutting of the original bodywork is involved. The TUV parts certificate (§19.3) supplied with the kit documents the components as approved, which is worth having on file for the car’s history.

Which cars have the wide body shell? On the first generation 997 it is the Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S. If your car is a rear wheel drive Carrera or Carrera S, order the narrow body version of this kit.
What is different between this and the narrow body kit? The side skirts are the distinguishing part, made to follow the wider sills of the four wheel drive shell. The front spoiler, ducktail and rear diffuser are shared with the narrow body set.
Will the ducktail work with the original rear deck? Yes. It is a fixed spoiler designed to mount on the standard deck lid using the original screw points, with a special glue where the design requires it.
Is the kit sold complete or piece by piece? It is sold as a complete four piece set with the mounting material, which is how the aerodynamics and the styling were developed to work.
Does it come with certification? Yes. A TUV parts certificate (§19.3) is supplied with every kit.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest.
