Do I need the SPL RUA F8X rear upper arm before installing this kit?

Yes. The SPL RUA F8X rear upper arm is specifically required by SPL Parts for this kit. Removing the factory eccentric eliminates the only factory mechanism for adjusting rear camber. Without the SPL RUA F8X or another adjustable rear upper arm already in place, there is no way to set camber after installation. The RUA F8X is sold separately and should be ordered and installed before or at the same time as this lockout kit.

Does the SPL ELC F8X fit the G8X generation M3 and M4?

The F8x and G8x M cars arrive from the factory with a rear suspension setup that is capable of holding a serious alignment; the problem is that the eccentric bolt BMW uses at the camber arm is not capable of holding it there under track conditions. Under high cornering loads, the friction that holds the eccentric in position gets overcome and the bolt rotates, shifting rear camber away from its aligned value in real time. For a car used exclusively on the street, this may be gradual enough that it goes unnoticed. For an M car that sees track time, this is a concrete problem; the balance the car was aligned for changes during the session and there is no way to know by how much without putting it back on a rack. The SPL Parts ELC F8X solves that at the camber arm specifically. It replaces the factory camber arm eccentric bolt at both rear corners with CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum lockout plates, zinc-plated grade 10.9 bolts, and lock nuts that create a mechanically fixed connection at the camber arm. The bolt cannot rotate. The camber arm cannot shift. The alignment set before the session is the alignment the car runs through the entire session, regardless of the lateral loads applied at the limit.

Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
