Eventuri Black Carbon Intake System for E39 BMW M5

Eventuri’s E39 M5 intake is engineered as a complete upgrade to the factory air box system, calibrated to work seamlessly with the S62’s stock ECU map and MAF sensors while delivering a tangible improvement in drivability. Utilizing the Patent Pending Venturi housing, the system maintains laminar flow, and a true cold-air feed via scoops integrated with the front fog lamps drives inlet temperatures as low as possible. The result is an optimized intake that produces consistent, repeatable performance gains.

Carbon Intake Housing Assemblies

• Eventuri’s filter housings integrate high-flow bespoke filters, aluminum inlet cowls, and carbon pods. The pods shroud the reverse-mounted elements and taper smoothly into the MAF tubes, creating a controlled reduction in cross-section that invokes the Venturi effect—accelerating airflow while maintaining laminar conditions, effectively acting as large velocity stacks. Foglamp Ducts

• Eventuri supplies the intakes with true cold air via replacement fog-lamp surrounds incorporating integrated ducts. Within the constraints of the surround’s shape, the inlet area is maximized, then transitions into the included flexible neoprene tubing. In motion, ambient air is ram-fed through these ducts and delivered directly to the intakes, preventing heat soak and enabling the engine to ingest air at near-ambient temperatures.

Performance

• Eventuri notes that the factory airboxes draw from behind the front bumper, creating a long intake path that adds drag, and their cuboid shapes induce turbulence where flow transitions to the circular MAF tubes. Replacing these with Eventuri Venturi housings delivers a far more efficient transition to the MAFs, preserving laminar flow. The filters ingest from a shielded engine-bay region saturated with cold air supplied by the integrated fog-lamp scoops. By lowering inlet temperatures and optimizing the flow path, the engine produces more power. Comparative dyno testing on a stock car (stock map and exhaust), performed back-to-back the same day with the hood closed, demonstrates the gains over the OEM airbox.
