Kline Innovation Valvetronic Exhaust System for 991.2 Porsche 911 Carrera & Carrera GTS

The Porsche 991.2 Carrera represents a milestone as the first Carrera model to supplant its naturally aspirated engine with a 3.0L twin turbo. Despite its robust output of 414hp and a noteworthy 0-60 mph acceleration time of 4.1 seconds (in the case of the Carrera S model), the 991.2 Carrera has faced disapproval due to its insufficient exhaust noise, an element that was integral to the personality of previous Carrera models. However, at Kline, the team excels in transforming uninspiring turbo noises into the compelling wails of a supercar. Their primary design objective for the 991.2 Carrera was to reinvigorate its voice and spirit!

About The Sound

  • Capitalizing on the established reputation of the Kline Porsche turbo line, many similar defining features have been incorporated into the Carrera turbo series. Among these features are a 1D CLR X pipe for a thrilling high-rpm roar, harmonically tuned mufflers, and ultra-thin Inconel 625 for the unmistakable “Kline” sound. The Kline Carrera Turbo system also features a valvetronic design, facilitating a quiet mode when the valve is closed and an unrestricted, raw scream with optimized performance when the valves are open.
  • This system is available in a racing variant for ultimate sound and performance or a choice of 100 or 200 cell high flow sports cats. The cat section is modular, which allows for rapid swapping between the cats and racing pipes, depending on intended use. Performance gains for the racing system stand at 35hp and 41nm @6000 rpm, and 20 and 16hp for 100 and 200 cell respectively.
  • Kline headers, manufactured from 0.9mm wall Inconel 625 and featuring a smooth equal length design and an internally laser-welded Inconel collector, result in faster and more efficient turbo spooling. This leads to an increase in torque and power across the rev range, with the most significant rise of 20nm and 15hp at 6000rpm.
  • The use of F1 grade Inconel 625 throughout the construction leads to the lightest and most resilient manifolds available on the market, outperforming others by a factor of 2.

Stainless Steel

  • Within the exhaust manufacturing industry, the material of choice is often 304-grade stainless steel due to its adequate strength, thermochemical stability, cost-effectiveness, and ease of fabrication. However, stainless steel, despite being suitable for constructing robust exhaust systems, is heavier than alternative materials. While its density is comparable to regular steel, its tensile strength is lacking, limiting its potential for high-performance exhaust components. Also, the requirement for thicker walls with stainless steel may result in a less vibrant and more muted exhaust sound.

Inconel

  • Inconel 625 is highly valued in the aerospace industry for its durability and heat resistance. It finds extensive use in manufacturing crucial parts, particularly exhaust turbine blades for high-performance jet engines. Inconel is favored in Formula One exhaust systems and has been selected by manufacturers for distinguished hypercar projects such as the McLaren P1 and Aston Martin 177. Capable of withstanding temperatures beyond 1000°C, Inconel prioritizes lightweight design. Nevertheless, Inconel poses unique challenges due to its difficult machinability and specific welding requirements, necessitating specialized skills and time-consuming techniques.

Carbon Fiber

  • Carbon fiber reinforced polymer, possessing a tensile strength-to-weight ratio that exceeds all metals, displays remarkable properties. Its lightweight nature combined with its impressive strength makes it a preferred material in various industries, including automotive and aerospace. Carbon fiber components contribute to weight reduction and offer improved stiffness, enhancing overall vehicle.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.
Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. Please review the full Terms & Conditions here.
We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
