Development

• The BMW M6 showcases refinement with its substantial sound deadening and effective muffling in the exhaust, which mutes the captivating symphony of its 4.4L engine. However, SOUL offers a solution. Upon evaluating the factory mid pipes, it becomes apparent that they possess a highly efficient and relatively smooth-flowing design. BMW incorporated a designated point for upgraded exhausts, and the rear section restricts the exhaust flow. The SOUL Resonated Muffler Bypass Exhaust presents an alternative by replacing the factory mufflers with a 3″ straight-pipe design that can be easily clamped on. Additionally, race resonators are added to minimize any potential drone. The straight-through configuration of these race resonators optimizes power and sound during intense acceleration while reducing harsh frequencies that may intrude into the cabin, resulting in drone-free experiences during partial throttle and cruising conditions. This exhaust system is an ideal companion for aftermarket downpipes, effectively eliminating drone and raspiness. The Y-pipe setup, exiting through quad tips, promotes balanced exhaust distribution and provides the option to adjust the tips for a flush or staggered appearance in the bumper. Power

• During independent dyno testing conducted at R/T Tuning, SOUL’s development M5 achieved an impressive peak power output of 610whp and 615ft-lbs of torque. This notable performance was attained through various modifications, including the use of downpipes, a custom tune, and the installation of SOUL’s Resonated Muffler Bypass Exhaust. It is worth mentioning that the power gains achieved are identical to those observed in the M6 model, as both vehicles are equipped with the same robust 4.4L V8 engine.

Installing the system involves cutting the original BMW exhaust at a designated factory break point, clearly indicated by a dimple. This enables the option to reinstall the factory system if desired.
