Which cars do the SOUL Resonated Turn-Down Exhaust Tips fit?

The Resonated Turn-Down Exhaust Tips fit the Porsche 911 GT3, GT3 RS, and 911 R in both 991.1 and 991.2 generations, covering model years 2014 to 2019. They bolt to the factory center muffler or any aftermarket exhaust that uses the OEM tip mounting plate.

Do they actually reduce sound for track days?

They are designed to. With the straight-through resonators in place, owners have reported a drop of about 3 to 4 dB at wide-open throttle, enough for some drivers to pass circuit drive-by limits. SOUL notes that a specific reduction is not guaranteed and varies by track and measurement.

Will they hurt performance?

Very little. The assembly keeps a 61mm minimum inner diameter, close to the factory muffler's own 59 to 60mm outlets, so flow stays near stock. The goal is lower measured sound with minimal effect on power.

Can I remove the turndowns or change the exit angle?

Yes. The turn-down tips attach with V-band clamps, so you can adjust the exit angle or run the resonators without the turndowns. The V-band hardware is included.

What are they made from and what is included?

The resonators are full stainless steel, and the brackets are laser-cut and hand-finished. V-band clamps are included, and the kit bolts to the factory tip mounting plate with three nuts, so no cutting or welding is required.

Is professional installation recommended, and are they warrantied?

Installation is a straightforward bolt-on that many owners do themselves in minutes, though a shop ensures correct fitment and clamp torque. SOUL backs the kit with a lifetime warranty covering materials and workmanship for street and track use.

SOUL Performance Resonated Turn-Down Exhaust Tips for 991 Porsche 911 GT3 / GT3 RS / R

SOUL Performance Bolt-On Resonated Turn Down Exhaust Tips for the Porsche 991.1 GT3 are designed to help track-focused owners meet increasingly strict sound limits without sacrificing the character of the car. Developed for all 991.1 and 991.2 GT3 / GT3 RS models, including the 911R, these tips bolt up to the factory center muffler or any aftermarket system that uses the OEM tip mounting plate and can be swapped on or off in just a few minutes with basic hand tools. The resonated, turn-down design directs and diffuses exhaust energy toward the pavement, trimming several decibels of volume while minimizing any loss in power or response, making them ideal for sound-restricted circuits. Built from robust stainless construction and engineered to the same standards as SOUL’s full exhaust systems, each set is fixture-tested for proper fitment, carefully foam packed for safe transport, and backed by SOUL’s renowned Lifetime Warranty for both street and track use.

Development & Testing

SOUL Performance responded to the requests of several customers participating in Lime Rock, Laguna Seca, Tremblant, and SCCA Autocross events by developing a specialized solution. Their team devised a replacement tip assembly that can be bolted onto either the factory center muffler or any aftermarket muffler/bypass compatible with the factory tip assemblies. Recognizing that simple turndown tips may not always provide sufficient noise reduction, SOUL Performance took an additional step by incorporating straight-through race resonators into their turndown tip assembly.
To ensure flexibility and ease of use, the turndown tips are secured to the resonator assemblies using v-band clamps. The inclusion of these clamps allows for convenient loosening of the tips at any time, enabling users to direct them away from sound recording equipment as needed. Unlike slip-on turndowns that may shift and settle on the exhaust piping after being subjected to heat cycles, the v-band clamps maintain a secure fit. The factory tip assembly can be swiftly removed in just a few minutes, requiring the removal of three nuts. This straightforward solution permits easy swapping of the tip assembly on and off at the track.
This tailored solution has minimal impact on performance since the resonators do not restrict exhaust flow. With a minimum inner piping diameter of 61mm, it is comparable to the measurement of the factory center muffler’s exit holes, which typically range between 59-60mm.
During their participation in SCCA Autocross events in Florida, Rad utilized stock headers and stock side mufflers, along with an aftermarket center muffler bypass. Upon testing, it was observed that at wide open throttle (WOT) and engine speeds exceeding 7000rpm, Rad experienced a noticeable drop of approximately 3-4 decibels (dB) compared to the factory exhaust tips.
TRAKCAR, a member of Rennlist, successfully utilized the SOUL Performance exhaust tips with their stock exhaust system to comply with stringent sound restrictions at the Bilster Berg circuit in Germany.

Construction

The brackets undergo a laser cutting process and are meticulously hand finished to ensure precision and quality. V-band clamps are thoughtfully included for convenient mounting. As for the SOUL race resonators, they are constructed from high-quality stainless steel, exhibiting exceptional durability specifically engineered to withstand the rigors of track use.

Sound Levels

The sound produced by the exhaust system is influenced by various factors, and each measurement scenario is distinct, with variations in sound distance and angle. It is important to note that this product does not guarantee a specific level of sound reduction, as results can vary.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
