Blue Anodized Finish

• When exposed to air, raw aluminum undergoes a natural process called oxidation, which leads to the formation of a tough surface film that provides protection against further corrosion. This process is similar to how rust forms on iron. Anodizing, on the other hand, takes advantage of this phenomenon by creating a hard layer of aluminum oxide that serves as an even more robust protective barrier. This finish is particularly beneficial for racetrack applications. Anodizing produces a consistent and uniform surface that is considerably more resistant to abrasion than either paint or powder coat finishes.

“E-slit” Double Shaving Effect

• The monoblock series of brake rotors features two distinct slits – a long, gently curved one and an “E” shaped slit that aligns with the long slit. These two slits work together to create a dual shaving effect that keeps the brake pad in its optimal condition, resulting in improved braking performance. The appearance of the “E” slit is an indicator that the rotor needs replacement once the long slit has worn away completely. Through rigorous testing on actual vehicles, they have found that their ceramic carbon metal brake pads are a perfect match for these rotors, resulting in exceptional compatibility.

About Bedding

• To achieve maximum performance from circuit-dedicated brake pads, it is essential to carry out the process of “bedding”. This involves applying heat to the pads prior to pushing the car to its limits, which enhances their high-temperature characteristics and ensures optimal performance. Bedding is a standard practice in top categories such as SUPER GT, WRC, and various races in Europe. Proper bedding is also necessary when using semi-metal brake pads, as it helps to stabilize the high-temperature performance and extend the lifespan of both the pads and rotors.
• How To Bed:
  • When using a new product on a circuit, it is recommended to raise the rotor temperature gradually to around 400-500°C without applying hard braking, and then apply a light brake pressure to create a pad imprint. Once this is done, allow the rotor temperature to naturally cool down to 100°C or below to complete the process.
