Does the ZACOE Performance 650S Front Hood replace the factory hood?

Yes. The 650S Front Hood is a full replacement for the factory hood. The original panel comes off and the dry carbon hood goes on in its place, covering the front luggage compartment the same way. Keep the factory hood if you think you’ll want to return the car to stock later.

Do I need the Nova widebody kit to run this hood?

No. The 650S Front Hood is part of ZACOE Performance’s 650S Nova Widebody Kit, but it also fits the standard-body 650S or those running ZACOE's Soft Kit as well. You can run it on an otherwise stock car for a sharper, carbon front end, and it will still match if you move to the full widebody later.

Will the 650S Front Hood fit the 650S Spider?

The 650S coupe and Spider differ mainly at the roof and rear deck, but body panel fitment shouldn’t be assumed between variants. Contact us directly with your car’s details and we’ll confirm fitment with ZACOE Performance before you order.

How involved is installation?

Plan on a professional shop. Swapping the hood means transferring hardware from the factory panel, mounting the carbon hood, and adjusting it so the gaps to the fenders, bumper, and windshield base are even. A shop familiar with McLaren body panels will get the alignment right and test fit before final assembly.

What is the 650S Front Hood made from?

ZACOE Performance builds the 650S Front Hood from dry carbon fiber. Dry carbon is cured under heat and pressure with very little excess resin, so it’s stiffer and lighter than the wet-layup carbon common in aftermarket hoods. For a panel this large, that stiffness helps the hood resist flex at speed and keep its fit over time.

Description

ZACOE Performance Carbon Front Hood for P11 McLaren 650S

The hood is the biggest single panel on the front of a 650S, and on a car this low it’s what you look down the length of from the driver’s seat. The factory hood is smooth and plain. ZACOE Performance’s Carbon 650S Front Hood replaces it with a sculpted dry carbon fiber panel. Twin vent channels near the nose form a V toward the front of the car, and raised surfaces sweep back toward the windshield, so the front end looks much closer to McLaren’s track cars. The 650S Front Hood comes from ZACOE Performance’s Nova Widebody Program, but it fits the standard-body 650S as well, or with ZACOE’s Soft Kit. That makes it a straightforward way to put carbon and a more aggressive shape on the nose without committing to a widebody conversion. Like the factory panel, it covers the front luggage compartment, so day-to-day use of the car stays the same.

Dry Carbon Built to the 650S Body

ZACOE Performance developed the 650S Front Hood from high-resolution 3D scans of the 650S, so the hood lines up with the fenders, bumper, and windshield base the way the factory panel does, even with its reshaped surface. Dry carbon is cured under heat and pressure with very little excess resin. On a panel this size, that makes the hood stiffer and lighter than wet-layup carbon, and better at holding its shape and keeping panel gaps even over time.

Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
