VF Engineering introduces its Supercharger System for the Porsche 997.2, building on the success of the 2002 Porsche 996 supercharger program. Embodying VF Engineering’s core philosophy of enhancing daily drivability without sacrificing reliability, this system elevates the 997.2 with a significant performance boost. Central to the system is the Vortech V3 Supercharger, chosen for its ability to deliver linear power to the redline, adding over 125 crank horsepower. The system includes a precision-engineered billet supercharger mounting bracket, crafted using CAD software and CNC-manufactured from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, ensuring a seamless fit using OEM bolt patterns without requiring any alterations or relocation of engine components. The V3 model SCi-Trim supercharger unit, selected after extensive consultation with Vortech engineers, features helical-cut gears for ultra-quiet operation, making it virtually silent when the engine compartment is closed. Despite being capable of a maximum 20 psi and 1000 cfm, the supercharger is calibrated to a conservative 6 psi to ensure long-term durability and reliability.
VF Engineering’s Supercharger System for the Porsche 997.2 incorporates an advanced air-to-water intercooler and meticulous serpentine belt routing, optimizing engine safety and performance. The system includes a charge cooler with isolated water channels, utilizing a Porsche OEM front radiator, bumper vents, and a Bosch water pump to maintain intake air temperatures around 140°F even in extreme conditions like the Arizona desert. With the charge cooler system operating continuously when the ignition is on, the system ensures dependable performance and consistent power output, enhancing the driving experience significantly.
