How much power does the VF ECU Software for 992.1 GT3 RS add?

VF Engineering measures a gain of 35 hp and 40 lb-ft from its ECU Software for 992.1 GT3 RS models, recorded with a full exhaust system fitted. Against the factory 518 hp and 342 lb-ft, that brings the car to 553 hp and 382 lb-ft. A car on the factory exhaust should expect a smaller gain.

Do I need an exhaust to run the software?

No, the software runs on the factory exhaust, but VF Engineering quotes its gains with a full exhaust system fitted. For the full 35 hp and 40 lb-ft, pair the software with a full exhaust such as the VF Engineering Titanium Valved EGO Exhaust for the 992.1 GT3 RS.

Where is the power gain felt most?

VF Engineering reports the largest torque gains between 2,500 and 5,000 rpm, which sharpens throttle response in everyday driving and out of slow corners. The largest horsepower gain arrives around 7,000 rpm, helping the 4.0 liter flat six pull harder toward its redline.

What is the difference between this software and the Competition Package?

The Performance ECU Software is rated at 35 hp and 40 lb-ft with a full exhaust. The VF Engineering Competition Package for the 992.1 GT3 RS is rated at more than 40 hp and 45 lb-ft under the same condition and costs $7,495 against $6,995 for this software.

How is the software installed?

VF Engineering installs the calibration at its Southern California facility or through an authorized VF dealer. Contact Bulletproof Automotive after ordering and we will coordinate the appointment with VF so the car can be booked in on a convenient date.

Description

VF Engineering Performance ECU Software for 992.1 Porsche 911 GT3 RS

VF Engineering’s Performance ECU Software for 992.1 Porsche 911 GT3 RS recalibrates the factory engine control unit of the naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six for a gain of 35 hp and 40 lb-ft, measured by VF with a full exhaust system fitted. On a car rated at 518 hp and 342 lb-ft from the factory, the change is felt most in the middle of the rev range: VF reports the largest torque increase between 2,500 and 5,000 rpm, where the GT3 RS spends much of its time on the road and coming out of slow corners. The horsepower gain peaks at 7,000 rpm and carries the car harder to its redline. It is the right step for an RS owner who has fitted a full exhaust and wants the engine calibrated to make the most of it.

Development and Testing

VF developed the calibration in its own dyno cell in Anaheim, California, refining the power band for both low-speed response and top-end pull. VF installs it at its Southern California facility or through its authorized dealer network, and we coordinate the appointment after you order.

About VF Engineering

VF Engineering designs supercharger and turbocharger systems, titanium exhausts and ECU and TCU calibrations from a 15,000 sq ft facility in Anaheim, Orange County, California, where it has been based for nearly two decades. Every calibration is developed in house on the company’s own Mustang AWD 500 chassis dyno, ECU boards are handled in a dedicated clean room, and new parts start in an R&D room equipped with a rapid prototyper. VF reports that more than 93 percent of its supercharger systems are still running after years of hard use, many on their second or third owner, and its engineers carry the testing discipline of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series into every road calibration.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. Please review the full Terms & Conditions here.

BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
