Does the Dive Plane Kit for G80 also fit the G82 M4?

Yes. Verus Engineering lists the Dive Plane Kit for G80 for both the G80 M3 sedan and the G82 M4 coupe, and developed it to work with the Ventus 1 and Ventus 2 aero packages for the M4. The four planes tape to the front bumper, so the same kit and template serve either car.

How do the dual dive planes compare with GT4 style canards?

Verus Engineering tested several designs in CFD before settling on this dual element package, and found it the most beneficial of those studied, including canards and dive planes styled after the BMW M4 GT4 race car. The chosen design raises front downforce while holding the increase in drag to a minimum.

Is drilling required to fit the dive planes?

No. The planes bond to the bumper with 3M VHB double-sided tape, six pieces cut to the plane sizes, and an install template positions them. Verus Engineering describes the install as simple and non-invasive, and publishes an informative packet, an install manual and an install video for the M3 and M4.

Can I run the dive planes without the Verus rear diffuser?

Yes. Verus Engineering states the dual dive planes produce a safe aero balance with or without its rear diffuser. With a large rear wing they add the front load that would otherwise call for a longer splitter, which is how Verus keeps its Ventus packages for the M4 practical on the street.

What are the M3 and M4 dive planes made from?

Verus Engineering specifies 1.5mm pre-preg carbon fiber in a 2x2 twill for each plane, cures it in an autoclave and polishes the surface to a high gloss. The shapes began in CAD from in-house scan data of the car and were refined in CFD, and pre-cut 3M VHB tape holds each one to the bumper.

Description

Verus Engineering Dual Element Dive Plane Kit for G80 BMW M3 and G82 M4

Verus Engineering’s Dual Element Dive Plane Kit for G80 BMW M3 and G82 M4 came out of a CFD comparison of several layouts, in which Verus found this two-element design the most beneficial, ahead even of canards styled after the BMW M4 GT4. The planes add load on the front axle and help extract air from the wheel wells while keeping the rise in drag small. They suit the owner who wants to move the balance forward without a longer, street-unfriendly splitter.

Construction and Fit

Each plane is 1.5mm pre-preg carbon in a 2×2 twill, autoclave cured and polished to a high gloss, shaped in CAD from in-house scan data before CFD optimization. Verus says the planes keep the aero balance safe with or without its rear diffuser, and built them for the Ventus 1 and Ventus 2 packages for the M4.

Features

CFD-optimized two-element layout at each front corner
Biases the aero balance forward for added front grip
Lets the owner fine-tune balance toward the nose
Non-invasive install with pre-cut 3M VHB tape and a template
Polished high-gloss carbon finish

What’s Included

Top dive planes (L/R)
Bottom dive planes (L/R)
Install template
3M VHB tape, pre-cut (x6)

Applications

BMW M3: G80 | 2021-present
BMW M4: G82 | 2021-present

Notes

The kit holds four planes, a top and a bottom element at each front corner
The Dive Plane Kit for G80 bonds on with 3M VHB tape and needs no drilling
On both cars the planes pair with the Verus Engineering Front Splitter Kit for G80 BMW M3 and G82 M4; on the M4 add the Side Splitter Kit and the Swan Neck UCW or V1X rear wing

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
