Can the Dive Plane Kit for G87 be installed without drilling?

Yes. The Dive Plane Kit for G87 includes 3M VHB double-sided tape cut to the shape of each plane and two templates to position them, so it can go on without drilling. Verus Engineering also supplies a hardware kit for owners who prefer to bolt the planes on, and publishes an install video for the M2.

What is the Ventus 1 package for the G87 M2?

Ventus 1 is the Verus Engineering entry aero package for the M2, and these dive planes are part of it alongside the swan neck UCW wing. Verus developed it to give a safe aerodynamic balance at high speed, helping the car get more from its tires on track and adding confidence on the street. Ventus 2 adds more downforce.

How do dive planes make downforce on the M2?

Each plane generates load on its own surfaces and also helps pull air out of the front of the wheel well, which Verus Engineering made the focus of its development. Together they shift the aerodynamic balance forward and help seal the sides of the car, raising front grip and corner speed without a longer splitter.

What are the M2 dive planes made from?

Verus Engineering builds the M2 planes from autoclave cured carbon fiber, using 2x2 twill pre-preg. They were shaped in OpenFOAM CFD to get the most from the space available on the G87 bumper, and the kit supplies 3M VHB tape cut to each shape so every plane bonds flush to the bumper.

What is included in the G87 dive plane kit?

Four carbon dive planes come in the kit, an upper and a lower for each side, with four pieces of 3M VHB tape cut to their shapes, two install templates and a hardware kit. Verus Engineering covers the install in a dedicated video for the G87 M2.

Description

Verus Engineering Dive Plane Kit for G87 BMW M2

Verus Engineering’s Dive Plane Kit for G87 BMW M2 adds front-end downforce without moving the splitter further forward, using an upper and a lower carbon element at each corner of the bumper. Verus developed the shapes in OpenFOAM CFD for the space available on the M2, aiming for load on the planes themselves and for better extraction of air from the front of the wheel wells. This is the kit for an M2 owner balancing a large rear wing or diffuser, and it forms part of the Verus Ventus 1 package.

Construction and Install

Verus molds the elements in pre-preg carbon fiber, 2×2 twill, and cures them in an autoclave. It supplies 3M VHB double-sided tape cut to each plane, two templates and a hardware kit, so the planes can be taped or bolted on.

Features

Moves the aero balance toward the front axle
Gives finer control over front-biased aero balance
Helps seal the sides of the car
Draws air out of the front of the wheel wells
Mounts with pre-cut 3M VHB tape or the supplied hardware

What’s Included

Upper dive planes (L/R)
Lower dive planes (L/R)

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
