Varis Arising-I Cooling Bonnet Hood for FK8 Honda Civic Type R

In circuit driving, the FK8 typically faces severe heat damage under normal conditions. Simply enlarging the radiator or adding a design-oriented ducted bonnet fails to lower the water temperature effectively. Consequently, VARIS initiated the development of a cooling bonnet using their accumulated expertise to enhance cooling efficiency. In tests on the track, this cooling bonnet achieved a reduction in water temperature by 5°C compared to the standard setup. Recognizing potential for further improvements, VARIS also began developing a new bumper. The simultaneous installation of both the Varis Front Bumper and the bonnet resulted in a substantial decrease in water temperature, ranging from 10 to 15°C.

Engineering

• An ideally shaped outlet duct is strategically positioned to enhance heat dissipation from the radiator core. Air enters via the NACA ducts on both sides and is expelled through the outlet duct at the base of the A-pillar, facilitating the removal of hot air from the engine compartment and improving cooling efficiency. The installation of the duct has also led to a redesign of the inner rib layout, which has increased its strength.

• Carbon products come gel coated, it is recommended to apply a UV resistant PPF or clear coat for optimum durability and appearance
• All hoods are shipped fully insured via palletized freight services to ensure safe, damage free delivery
• Varis hoods are designed to function with the factory hood latch, hood pins not required
• Aerocatch latches recommended but not required for high-speed and or track use
