The PRL Tube and Fin Intercooler fits both the 2023+ Honda Civic Type R (FL5) and the 2024+ Acura Integra Type S (DE5). The CSF High-Performance Radiator fits the FL5 Civic Type R only and does not have a direct-fit version for the DE5. Confirm each component’s fitment against your specific vehicle before ordering.
- Does this bundle require a tune or ECU calibration to install? No. Both components are direct bolt-on upgrades that require no ECU calibration or tuning to install. The PRL intercooler is designed to maintain factory-compatible pressure differential and does not trigger boost or fuel trim corrections on its own.

PRL’s own dyno testing showed the intercooler reached heat soak equilibrium 66% later than the factory unit and stabilized approximately 26°F cooler at full heat soak. At full heat soak, the PRL intercooler produced 270whp compared to 237whp on the factory unit, a 33whp retention difference. The PRL intercooler also reduced average pressure drop from 0.6 psi on the factory unit to 0.4 psi, meaning it causes less restriction to boost flow.
- How much does the CSF radiator improve coolant temperatures? CSF’s testing on a tuned FL5 showed the radiator decreased engine coolant temperatures by 6 to 8% compared to the factory radiator. The CSF unit uses a larger dual-row 42mm aluminum core with CSF’s exclusive B-Tube technology, which increases heat transfer by approximately 15% over standard oval welded tubes. The 5mm fin technology also increases heat exchange surface area, and the OEM plastic-tank single-row design is replaced entirely with an all-aluminum TIG-welded construction.
- Why do the intercooler and radiator work better together than either does alone? The FL5 and DE5 factory cooling systems manage charge air and engine coolant through separate but adjacent paths in the front bumper. When the intercooler heat-soaks, it begins radiating heat backward into the engine bay and into the airflow reaching the radiator. When the radiator is also undersized, coolant temperatures rise faster, which further raises oil and engine bay temperatures and compounds heat-soak on the intercooler. Upgrading both at the same time addresses both heat sources: the intercooler removes more heat from the charge air before it enters the engine, and the radiator removes more heat from the coolant, reducing the thermal load the entire system is managing. The result is more stable temperatures under the conditions where the stock system struggles.

The CSF High-Performance Radiator is a direct drop-in replacement that is compatible with the OEM fan shroud, hoses, and all factory mounting points.
