Are springs included with this kit?

Yes. Four US-spec springs are supplied, 14.0 kgf/mm or 784 lbs/in at the front and 12.0 kgf/mm or 672 lbs/in at the rear, plus helper springs. TEIN also offers 12 or 16 kgf/mm front and 10 or 14 kgf/mm rear on request.

Do the Mono Racing Coilovers for FK8 also fit the FL5 and Integra Type S?

Yes. TEIN lists the Mono Racing Coilovers for FK8 for the 2017 to 2021 Civic Type R, the 2023 and later FL5 Civic Type R and the 2024 and later DE5 Integra Type S, with slightly different ride height ranges for each.

What happens to the factory adaptive dampers?

They are replaced, and TEIN includes an error canceller for the adaptive damper system. Damping is then set by hand at each 16-level adjuster, or electronically with an optional TEIN EDFC controller, which TEIN recommends for the rear dampers on these cars.

Is this kit a good choice for a street-only Type R?

No, not in most cases. TEIN aimed Mono Racing at drivers who are frequently on circuits, with caster-adjustable front mounts and helper springs that pay off near the limit. It remains usable on the street, but a road-only car gains little from it.

Can front camber and caster be adjusted?

Yes. The front pillow ball upper mounts adjust camber without steps and caster in four steps, each set independently of the other. That gives a wider alignment range than the factory front mounts allow, while the rear keeps reinforced rubber upper mounts.

Description

TEIN Mono Racing Coilovers for FK8 / FL5 Honda Civic Type R and DE5 Acura Integra Type S

TEIN’s Mono Racing Coilovers for FK8 and FL5 Honda Civic Type R and DE5 Acura Integra Type S replace the factory adaptive dampers with a mono-tube kit for drivers who lap these cars regularly. An error canceller comes in the box, with US-spec springs of 14.0 kgf/mm front and 12.0 rear. A road-only car would be paying for track hardware it never uses.

Chassis Tuning

TEIN set the kit up to keep the Type R settled at high speed and to limit nose dive under heavy braking, with spring rates and damping drawn from its Super Racing settings. Front pillow ball mounts widen the alignment range, while the rear keeps reinforced rubber mounts. Fully separate oil and gas chambers resist aeration on repeated laps.

Features

16-level damping, compression and rebound together, through ADVANCE M.S.V. valving
Front camber adjusts steplessly and caster in four steps
Helper springs at both ends secure rebound stroke for steady tyre contact
EDFC compatible, with optional controllers for damping changes from the cabin
Covers three chassis with separate height ranges

Notes

Made to order by TEIN, so lead time varies and the kit cannot be cancelled or returned
The TEIN Mono Racing Coilovers for FK8 ship with 14.0 kgf/mm front and 12.0 kgf/mm rear springs; 12 or 16 front and 10 or 14 rear can be requested at order
TEIN recommends EDFC for the rear dampers because hand adjustment is difficult on this chassis

About TEIN

TEIN was founded in Yokohama, Japan, in 1985 by former rally mechanic Hakaru Ichino, joined soon after by driver Yoshio Fujimoto. The team reached the World Rally Championship in 1989, and in 1995 Fujimoto won the Safari Rally in a Toyota Celica GT-FOUR, the first Japanese driver to do so. TEIN launched its own dampers in 1990 and came to supply around 80 percent of the dampers in the N1 Taikyu endurance series. TEIN USA has served the Americas from Downey, California, since 2001.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. In short, prices may change without notice. It is always advised to give us a call prior to placing your order online to confirm availability and to confirm current pricing.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
