Can a sub silencer be added to the N1 Muffler Kit for FN2?

No. Spoon states that a sub silencer cannot be fitted to the N1 Muffler Kit for FN2, so the volume is fixed by the main system. Buyers who want a way to soften the sound for long trips should consider that carefully, as there is no Spoon add-on to reduce it.

Does it fit a Civic Type R first sold in Europe?

Spoon registers the Type R EURO sold in Japan from late 2009 to mid 2012, which is the same FN2 hatchback model built for Europe. Spoon does not list the earlier European cars from 2007 by name, so owners of those should ask BA to check with the distributor before ordering.

What does the system sound like?

Spoon describes the classic Honda note, rising to the sharp VTEC sound at high rpm. Spoon publishes no decibel figures for the FN2 kit, so BA does not quote any. With the silencing placed forward in the system, the tone at the tail is clean rather than raspy.

How heavy is the kit and how does it ship?

Spoon lists the kit at 18 kg and packs it in a long, flat carton of 70 x 182 x 21 cm. The length of the box means it travels as an oversize parcel, and a shop or a business address is the easiest place to receive it.

Does the Type R need a tune with this exhaust?

No tune is required by Spoon or listed by its US distributor. Spoon publishes no power figures for the kit, and the design aims at better charging efficiency and handling balance rather than a headline number, so BA quotes no gain.

Description

Spoon Sports N1 Muffler Kit for FN2 Honda Civic Type R

The Spoon Sports N1 Muffler Kit for FN2 Honda Civic Type R applies the logic behind every N1 system to the European-built hatchback: do the hard silencing early, close to the engine, where hot exhaust gas is easiest to quieten. With that work done up front, Spoon could place the silencer near the middle of the car and use a compact, lightweight rear section, which reduces weight in the overhang and, by Spoon’s account, cuts yaw inertia for crisper handling. Spoon registers the kit for the Type R EURO sold in Japan from 2009 to 2012, a car with the K20A and a 6-speed manual. The sound is the classic VTEC note, hardening as the engine climbs toward the top of its range. Spoon lists the kit at 18 kg and ships it in a carton 182 cm long. It is a kit for the owner who drives the FN2 hard and enjoys hearing it; because it cannot take a sub silencer, anyone who wants the option to quieten it later should look elsewhere.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
