When do I need the Inner Spacer Set for EG6?

Spoon lists the Inner Spacer Set for EG6 as required whenever its Twin-Block caliper is fitted to the EG6 or EK4 Civic SiR or the GE8 or GK5 Fit. On those cars the conversion also needs two Spoon front rotors, so the spacers, rotors and calipers are best ordered together.

How thick are the spacers?

Each is 3 mm thick and made for a 100 mm pitch circle diameter, which matches the four-lug 4 x 100 hub on all four registered cars. Go Tuning notes that the spacers increase track width slightly, which is how they create room for a caliper that is wider than the factory unit.

Do I need longer wheel studs?

Spoon does not call for longer hub bolts with this set. A 3 mm spacer does reduce thread engagement slightly, so the installer should confirm that each lug nut still takes a full, safe number of turns, especially with aftermarket wheels or open-ended nuts.

Can I use the spacers without the Twin-Block caliper?

Yes, though there is little reason to. Go Tuning describes them as a way to add track width as well as to clear wider calipers, but 3 mm per side makes almost no visual or handling difference. Spoon registers the set specifically for the Twin-Block conversion.

Do they fit the DC2, DB8 or EK9?

No. Spoon registers the set only for the EG6 and EK4 Civic SiR and the GE8 and GK5 Fit. The Integra Type R and the EK9 take the Twin-Block caliper without these spacers, so owners of those cars should leave this part out of the order.

Description

Spoon Sports Inner Spacer Set for EG6 / EK4 Honda Civic and GE8 / GK5 Fit

Spoon Sports’ Inner Spacer Set for EG6 and EK4 Civic SiR and GE8 and GK5 Fit is a small part with one clear job: it provides the clearance the Spoon Twin-Block caliper needs on these four-lug Hondas. Each spacer is 3 mm thick and sized for a 100 mm pitch circle diameter, the 4 x 100 pattern these cars share. Spoon lists the set as required whenever the Twin-Block caliper goes on one of these chassis, together with the larger Spoon conversion rotor. Go Tuning explains the principle: the spacers add a little track width and in doing so make room for a caliper wider than the factory one. Three millimetres is a modest change that will not alter the look of the car or noticeably move the tire in the arch. Buy it with the caliper and rotors, not on its own; on its own it offers no meaningful benefit.

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
