These are two separate endlink products for the 996 and 997 platform. The RE 996 is the rear sway bar endlink; it connects the rear sway bar to the rear shock mount. Factory rubber-bushed endlinks absorb a portion of the bar’s lateral force before it reaches the chassis, which means an aftermarket rear bar upgrade delivers less than its rated stiffness to the suspension. Fixed-length endlinks compound the issue on any 996 or 997 that has been lowered, corner-weighted, or set up with unequal rear suspension heights; when both sides aren’t at identical height, a fixed endlink twists the bar and introduces preload that biases roll resistance toward one side before the car has cornered at all. The SPL RE 996 removes both of those limitations from the rear sway bar equation. Teflon-lined FK 1/2-inch bearings at the shock mount deliver the highest load capacity available in this application; sway bar force transfers directly to the chassis without the rubber deflection that blunts the bar’s effective stiffness. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
