The factory front lower control arm on the BMW F2x and F3x does three things in a fixed position: it sets the front roll center, it determines the camber range available, and it establishes the front track width. When the car is at ride height with stock geometry, that fixed position is adequate. As soon as the car is lowered, the roll center drops further below the center of gravity, increasing body roll and bump steer. The camber range becomes insufficient for any build running performance tires. And the track width; 60.5 inches on the F3x, 59.9 inches on the F2x; stays significantly narrower than the M3’s 62.2 inches, a geometry disadvantage that translates directly into outer front tire loading and grip potential. The SPL Parts FLCA F3X addresses all three problems with a single arm. Camber adjustment, roll center correction via included 304 stainless steel stackable spacers in 1/8 and 1/4-inch increments, and track width adjustment are all built into one piece. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
