Which cars does the SOUL X-Pipe Exhaust System for 991 Turbo fit?

The X-Pipe Exhaust System for 991 Turbo fits the 991.1 and 991.2 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S, model years 2014 to 2019. It bolts in place of the factory center section and reuses the stock catalytic converters. It does not fit the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series.

Does it keep the factory catalytic converters?

Yes. The system reuses the factory catalytic converters, so it adds sound and flow without removing any emissions hardware and without triggering a check-engine light. The gains come from the X-pipe design and the free-flowing race resonators rather than from changing the converters.

Do I need a tune, and will it throw a check-engine light?

No. Because the system retains the factory catalytic converters, it runs on the stock tune with no check-engine light. Many owners add tuning for other performance goals, but none is required for this system to work as designed.

How much louder is it, and is there drone?

It is clearly louder than stock, with more engine and turbo character. SOUL tunes the quad resonators to add volume while avoiding the highway drone that makes some systems tiring on long drives. The final character depends on the tips you choose and the rest of your setup.

What tips are available?

You can reuse your factory tips, or choose Signature Satin Straight-Cut or Signature Satin GT2-Style single-wall tips in T316L stainless. The tip choice sets the look and part of the final sound; select it at checkout.

Is professional installation recommended, and is it warrantied?

The system is a direct bolt-on that many experienced owners install at home with the included instructions, though a shop ensures correct fitment and clamp torque. SOUL backs it with a lifetime warranty covering materials and workmanship for street and track use.

Description

SOUL Performance X-Pipe Exhaust System for 991 Porsche 911 Turbo

SOUL Performance X-Pipe Exhaust for the Porsche 991 Turbo is built for owners who want a louder, more characterful car while keeping their factory catalytic converters and OEM tips. Designed for all 991.1 and 991.2 Turbo models (except the Turbo S Exclusive Series), this system replaces the rear exhaust sections with a proprietary X-pipe layout using full 3-inch T304L stainless tubing and quad race resonators. The result is freer flow, meaningful weight savings over the stock components, and a vivid increase in flat-six engine note and turbo wail, all tuned for an OEM+ sound with no drone on the highway. Each system is a direct bolt-on with included hardware and instructions, hand-built with mandrel bends and laser-cut brackets for precise fitment, and backed by SOUL Performance’s renowned Lifetime Warranty for both street and track use.

Development & Testing

Whether you need to retain the factory catalytic converters or simply desire a louder exhaust with pronounced pops and burbles during deceleration for your 991 Turbo, the ideal solution lies in the SOUL X-Pipe Exhaust. SOUL Performance developed this exhaust system with modularity in mind, allowing you to interchange tips or incorporate catted or free flow pipes as desired. Additionally, they opted for 3″ tubing to accommodate high-power applications to ensure ample support.
In their quest for optimal performance, SOUL Performance conducted experiments involving the inclusion of a mixing chamber within their X-pipe design. Detailed analysis using 3D CAD software revealed a notable increase in downstream velocity across various measured pressure and temperature levels. This design optimization translates to improved flow characteristics, reduced backpressure for enhanced horsepower, and an overall improvement in sound quality.
Furthermore, the inclusion of quad race resonators in the system proves instrumental in minimizing drone while simultaneously promoting a refined exhaust note. With these meticulously engineered features, SOUL Performance has created an exhaust system that strikes the perfect balance between performance, acoustics, and modularity, catering to the preferences and requirements of discerning enthusiasts.

Construction

Each exhaust system is meticulously crafted from mandrel bent T304L stainless steel tubing, with a generous diameter of 3″ and a wall thickness of.065″ for optimal performance and durability. The inclusion of straight-through race resonators, featuring a full metal packing design, further enhances the system’s longevity and ensures maximum efficiency in sound attenuation. Additionally, laser-cut brackets are incorporated into the design to guarantee a precise and seamless fitment.
To personalize the look of your 991, a variety of hand-finished tip options are available, allowing you to select the one that best complements your vehicle’s aesthetic. Alternatively, you also have the option to reuse your factory tips. As a testament to their commitment to quality, each system is equipped with Mikalor Supra Heavy-Duty Clamps. These clamps provide secure and reliable fastening, ensuring that the tips remain securely attached to the exhaust system throughout your driving experiences.

Sound

Indulge in a heightened auditory experience with an amplified sound emanating from both the engine and turbos, all while enjoying a drone-free environment. The SOUL X-Pipe Exhaust delivers an OEM+ tone that impeccably captures the essence of how the Turbo should have sounded straight from the factory. This exhaust system brings forth an enhanced and captivating sound profile, enriching the overall driving experience and complementing the performance capabilities of the vehicle. With SOUL Performance’s meticulous attention to detail and engineering prowess, the result is an exhaust system that perfectly aligns with the Turbo’s inherent character, elevating it to new auditory heights.

Bolt On & Go

To ensure impeccable fitment, every exhaust system undergoes rigorous testing in a specialized fixture. Following the testing process, each system is meticulously foam packed to safeguard its condition during shipping and delivery, guaranteeing that it arrives in perfect condition. Furthermore, comprehensive installation instructions are included in the package to facilitate a straightforward installation process that can be successfully carried out by most do-it-yourself (DIY) enthusiasts. With these measures in place, SOUL Performance prioritizes customer satisfaction by providing a hassle-free installation experience and ensuring that the exhaust system is installed correctly for optimal performance.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, unfortunately our website is unable to compensate dynamically for what can at times be volatile changes in the cost of items due to currency values fluctuating, changes in prices from suppliers, changes in shipping and import duties, and other factors. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
