Do the SOUL Valved Side-Muffler Bypass Pipes fit the 991.2 GT3 and the 911 R?

Yes. One set fits the 991.1 and 991.2 GT3, both generations of the 991 GT3 RS, and the 991 911 R, covering the 3.8-liter and 4.0-liter flat-six from 2014 to 2019. Check your exact model and year against the Applications list before ordering.

Do these keep the factory exhaust valves?

Yes. The SOUL Valved Side-Muffler Bypass Pipes use OEM-style valves that operate exactly like the factory ones, so you keep full control of the sound from the car's own exhaust controls. Closed, the GT3 stays civil; open, it takes on a louder, more exotic voice.

How much louder are they?

With the valves closed the increase is moderate and easy to live with day to day. With the valves open the flat-six gains a refined, exotic pitch that builds with revs. The enlarged path into the secondary pipe also makes the open-to-closed transition smoother than a center-muffler bypass.

Do they affect the catalytic converters or add power?

No. These pipes replace the factory side mufflers, which sit downstream of the catalytic converters, so the cats are untouched. SOUL does not publish a power figure for this set; the main benefits are a large weight saving, better heat management, and the sound.

Will they fit over aftermarket headers with relocated O2 bungs?

Yes, with the optional O2 bungs. They are left off by default to save weight, but SOUL can add bungs for headers that relocate the O2 sensors to the side-muffler bypass, so ask for that option when you order.

Is professional installation recommended?

Yes. The pipes bolt in with no cutting or modifying, but having a qualified technician fit them ensures correct alignment and a proper seal at every joint, which matters most on a car that sees regular track use and the heat that comes with it.

Description

SOUL Performance Valved Side-Muffler Bypass Pipes for 991 Porsche 911 GT3 / GT3 RS / R

SOUL Performance’s Valved Side-Muffler Bypass Pipes for the 991 Porsche 911 GT3, GT3 RS and 911 R strip more than 35 pounds of dead weight off the back of the car and free up the exhaust, while keeping the one thing that makes these engines livable on the road: the factory valves. In place of the heavy factory side mufflers, SOUL fits 3-inch T304L stainless pipes with OEM-style valves that operate exactly like stock, so the GT3 stays civil with the valves closed and erupts into a refined, exotic wail with them open. Built in-house in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, from thick-wall T304L with mandrel bends and racing-grade flex bellows, each set bolts straight in with no cutting, and an enlarged path into the secondary pipe balances pressure through the center muffler for a smoother transition than a center-muffler bypass. The weight comes off exactly where a GT3 wants it gone, behind the rear axle, and the heat follows it out. For the owner who tracks the car and drives it on the road, this is the rare bypass that adds sound and sheds pounds without giving up the factory’s manners, and it is backed for life.

Development & Testing

By removing the side mufflers, significant weight savings are achieved, aiding in heat management within the engine bay and contributing to cooler rear tires. To ensure longevity, the hole leading into the secondary pipe is enlarged, equalizing pressure in the center muffler. Flex bellows are incorporated to facilitate straightforward installation and enhance durability, especially in demanding racing conditions, resembling the OEM standards. The implementation of large 3″ diameter primary piping promotes increased flow, while the high-quality valves operate like the factory specifications.

Construction

Every set is meticulously crafted from mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel tubing with a 3″ diameter and.065″ wall thickness. Additionally, high-quality flex bellows are incorporated into each set to ensure exceptional durability and longevity.

Sound

The sound transition between open and closed states is exceptionally smooth compared to a center muffler bypass setup. When the valves are closed, the tone experiences a moderate increase while maintaining a comfortable sound level when the factory center muffler is installed. On the other hand, when the valves are open, a refined and exotic pitch is revealed, perfectly complementing the high-performance nature of the GT3 engine.

Bolt On & Go

To ensure flawless fitment, every exhaust undergoes rigorous testing in a fixture. Furthermore, each exhaust is meticulously foam packed for secure and protected shipping, arriving in perfect condition. The exhaust is designed for a straightforward installation, with no cutting or modifications required. It is ready to be installed seamlessly right out of the box.

Additional Information

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. We will continue to do our best to maintain updated prices and we will always continue to offer our price match guarantees as well to ensure our prices are always the best for you. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. Please review the full Terms & Conditions here.

BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
