Which cars does the SOUL Sport X-Pipe Exhaust System fit?

The Sport X-Pipe Exhaust System fits the 991.1 and 991.2 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S, model years 2014 to 2019. It does not fit the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series. The system bolts in as a direct-fit assembly for the factory exhaust location.

Does it keep catalytic converters, and will it set a check-engine light?

It is a full catted system built around premium HJS HD 200-cell high-flow catalytic converters that meet EURO 4 efficiency targets. Because it runs genuine high-flow converters, it does not set a check-engine light when used as intended, so you get more flow and sound while keeping emissions function.

No. The Sport X-Pipe does not require an ECU tune to run. The gains come from the X-pipe design, the quad race resonators, and the high-flow HJS converters. Many owners add tuning for other performance goals, but it is not needed for this system to work as designed.

How much louder is it, and is there drone?

It lets noticeably more turbo and flat-six sound through than the factory system, with a richer tone under load. The quad straight-through resonators keep the sound controlled for the street while opening up on throttle; the final character also depends on your tip choice.

What tips are available?

You can reuse your factory tips, or choose a hand-finished single-wall tip in T316L stainless. The tip choice sets the rear look and part of the final sound; select it at checkout.

Is it street legal, and is it warrantied?

SOUL intends the system for closed-course competition use; it is not CARB approved and is not for sale or street use in California, so confirm the rules where you drive. It installs as a direct bolt-on and is backed by SOUL's lifetime warranty covering materials and workmanship.

Description

SOUL Performance Sport X-Pipe Exhaust System for 991 Porsche 911 Turbo & S

SOUL Performance Products’ Sport X-Pipe Exhaust System for the Porsche 991 Turbo replaces the factory rear exhaust with a full catted, free-flowing T304L stainless assembly designed to support serious power gains while giving the 3.8L twin-turbo flat-six the sharper, more exotic note it deserves all while reusing the OEM exhaust tips for a clean, understated factory look. A proprietary X-pipe with integrated mixing chamber, 3″ mandrel-bent tubing, and quad straight-through race resonators work together to reduce back pressure, increase exhaust velocity, and unleash a harder-hitting blend of turbo wail, flat-six bark, and tasteful pops and burbles on overrun, without introducing cabin drone or triggering a check engine light when used as intended. Built around premium HJS HD 200-cell catalytic converters that meet strict EURO 4 efficiency targets, the system flows substantially better than stock while maintaining reliability under sustained high-load use. Weighing roughly 14.4lb less than the OEM rear section (30.6lb vs 45lb), it trims mass from the back of the car for a more responsive feel. Each Sport X-Pipe is hand-crafted from.065″ wall T304L stainless, TIG welded, and fixture-tested for precise, direct bolt-on fitment with the factory catalyst sections and mounting points, allowing owners to keep their stock tips or any compatible OEM-style upgrade. Backed by SOUL’s renowned Lifetime Warranty for both street and track use, this “reuse OEM tips” configuration is the ideal choice for 991.1 and 991.2 Turbo owners who want a major step up in sound, flow, and future power headroom while preserving a subtle, factory-correct appearance.

Development & Testing

SOUL Performance Products set out to develop an assertive catted system that provides a modest increase in tone, including enticing pops and burbles upon deceleration, all without triggering a check engine light. Another crucial consideration was ensuring support for high power, necessitating the use of 3″ tubing. In their pursuit, they conducted experiments with the inclusion of a mixing chamber in their X-pipe design. Analysis using 3D CAD software demonstrated a notable increase in velocity downstream of the mixing chamber within a range of measured pressure and temperature levels. This facilitates optimal flow characteristics, reduces backpressure to enhance higher horsepower output, and elevates the system’s sound quality. Including quad race resonators plays a discernible role in minimizing drone while encouraging a more refined exhaust note. Furthermore, the system was designed with modularity in mind, allowing for the ease of tip replacement, conversion back to factory catalytic converters, or the option to add their race cat pipes at any desired time.

Construction

Crafted with precision, each Sport X-Pipe Exhaust System is constructed from mandrel bent T304L stainless steel tubing, boasting a diameter of 3″ and a wall thickness of.065″. The system incorporates straight-through race resonators featuring a full metal packing design, ensuring exceptional durability. Laser-cut brackets are employed to guarantee impeccable fitment. For a personalized touch, you have the freedom to choose from a selection of hand-finished tip options, allowing you to select the appearance that best complements your 991. Alternatively, you can opt to reuse your factory tips.

HJS Catalysts

SOUL Performance Products utilizes the finest catalytic converters available, renowned for their exceptional flow and durability within the industry. These converters exhibit outstanding efficiency, meeting stringent EURO 4 emission standards while enabling increased flow without triggering a check engine light. The HD design incorporates premium triple foil winding, ensuring maximum strength. Moreover, the inclusion of a brazing stripe serves as an additional feature to enhance durability by preventing core movement or damage during sustained high horsepower abuse. SOUL Performance Products deliberately employs a large and appropriately sized catalyst to enable maximum gains, leaving no room for compromises.

Sound

The HJS catalytic converters exhibit exceptional flow characteristics, allowing for the passage of an increased amount of turbo and flat-six sound. The addition of quad resonators contributes to a refined tone and effectively reduces droning in the cabin. The volume level is perfectly suited for owners seeking a sophisticated sound enhancement, delivering a notably aggressive tone during heavy throttle inputs while maintaining a mild and sporty presence during cruising.

Bolt On & Go

Every exhaust undergoes meticulous testing in a dedicated fixture to ensure impeccable fitment. Following this, each exhaust is carefully foam packed to guarantee its pristine condition upon arrival. Furthermore, the package includes comprehensive installation instructions, providing step-by-step guidance for a straightforward installation process that can be easily performed by most DIY enthusiasts.

Rest assured that any order you place on line will be at zero risk to you in this area. If in the event your order cannot be fulfilled at the original intended website price we will offer you a 100% refund, no questions asked. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
