In this configuration, high-flow catted sections are paired with 4″ straight cut single wall Satin Black tips for a purposeful, motorsport-inspired appearance that matches the elevated performance. A true 3″ X-pipe merges the banks for a smoother, higher-pitched tone and an intense wail at full throttle, whether running a stock calibration or an aggressive tune. Each system is built in-house at SOUL’s Willow Grove, Pennsylvania facility using thick-wall .065″ T304L stainless, precision billet flanges and collectors, mandrel bends, and back-purged TIG welds to ensure durability under heavy track and street use. Integrated valve simulators prevent check engine lights when removing the factory valves, and modular midsections enable easy switching between free flow and catted setups as needs evolve, all backed by SOUL Performance Products’ lifetime warranty for confidence on road and track.

Construction

• Every individual component of this system is meticulously crafted in the United States, utilizing mandrel bent construction and employing thick-walled .065″ T304L stainless steel. The billet 304L stainless steel head flanges and merge collector are precisely cut using advanced 5-axis CNC machines to guarantee optimal exhaust flow and exceptional durability. To ensure robust welds and longevity, the TIG welding process is performed with back purging, employing high-quality ARCAL™ Prime argon gas. This meticulous welding technique allows for proper weld penetration, crucial for withstanding the demanding conditions of the track.
• During fabrication, the headers and system are carefully assembled using aluminum fixtures of substantial gauge. These fixtures serve as efficient heat sinks during the welding process, effectively dissipating heat and preventing any warping. This not only guarantees the integrity of the final products but also ensures that the fixtures themselves remain undistorted, resulting in a perfect fitment that meets the highest standards of precision.

Headers

• For individuals seeking optimal performance, significant weight reduction, and unlocking the full potential of sound, a comprehensive race system presents a logical choice. The key to enhancing performance lies in the removal of the cumbersome and restrictive factory headers. By opting for a complete system replacement, they can eliminate the limitations imposed by the factory catalytic converter assemblies, the inclusion of “particulate filters,” and the bulky 7 ⅝ connection point to the factory rear muffler assembly. A simple adjustment to our previous generation GT3 Competition Headers optimizes the flange, eliminating the need for costly OEM clamps and donut gaskets, while introducing a more efficient v-band connection point.
• Even a remarkable engineering marvel like the GT3, as provided by Porsche, arrives with exhaust manifolds that suffer from constraints in terms of primary tubing length, runner diameter, and merge collection efficiency. These limitations arise due to factors such as dense catalytic converters, mass production considerations, emissions regulations, and compromises related to sound restrictions. However, through careful refinements in the flange / primary tube interface, utilization of smooth radius bends with ample diameters, and implementation of performance-driven collectors featuring merge spikes, significant improvements in flow, responsiveness, and overall performance have been achieved, resulting in a more aggressive exhaust note.
• To ensure the utmost reliability and prevent any potential exhaust leaks, the adoption of slip-on merge collectors was disregarded. Instead, the focus centered on designing a high-flow collector from initial CAD modeling to CNC machining, resulting in an uncompromising final product. This custom billet collector enables the maximization of runner length while reducing the number of welds, enhancing durability. Additionally, the billet CNC head flanges provide an efficient transition from the exhaust ports to the runners, reinforcing this high-stress area and eliminating the risk of cracking due to repeated, intense use during track days.

HJS HD 200-Cell Pipes

• These pipes represent the pinnacle of quality, renowned for their exceptional flow characteristics and long-lasting performance. Not only do they surpass the rigorous EURO 4 emission standards with impressive efficiency, but they also facilitate an increase in overall flow. The HD design incorporates a premium triple foil winding, ensuring maximum strength and durability. Additionally, the inclusion of a brazing stripe serves as an additional safeguard, effectively preventing any movement or damage to the core that could occur under sustained high horsepower abuse.

Rear Exhaust Section

• The rear portion of the SOUL Race Exhaust System has been meticulously optimized to provide a single, unobstructed flow path with a diameter of 3 inches. In contrast, the design of the factory system incorporates significantly large catalytic converters that lead into a heavy dual entry muffler. This factory setup features restrictive piping with varying diameters throughout the flow path, resulting in performance limitations. Enthusiasts seeking a race-oriented configuration will appreciate the substantial weight reduction of over 25 pounds, as well as the dedicated focus on maximizing exhaust flow.
• Building upon this foundation, extensive efforts were made to develop a header-back system that maintains exceptional flow characteristics while delivering a higher, smoother pitch, reminiscent of the aggressive sound exhibited by RSR race cars. Constructed from robust T304L stainless steel with a wall thickness of .065 inches, this full 3-inch diameter system is TIG welded using back purging techniques to ensure its resilience even under the harshest track conditions. Moreover, it effectively reduces the likelihood of triggering CELs (check engine lights). The exhaust gases converge at an X section, where careful attention was given to minimizing any reduction in diameter while maximizing the blending of exhaust flows. This meticulous approach results in the distinct, elevated, and smooth pitch that can be observed in accompanying videos. Finally, a versatile tip plate, identical to the one utilized in the 991 GT3 models, enables users to conveniently switch between various tip assemblies according to their preferences.

Sound

• The auditory experience provided by this system on the 992 GT3 is truly remarkable. The harmonious blending achieved by the X section produces a higher pitched sound that perfectly suits a GT car, accompanied by an authoritative volume that is truly exceptional, even for a vehicle driven on the streets. For those yearning for a Cup Car-like encounter, their desires will be met with a thrilling and aggressive wail that will leave them with a permanent smile and, quite possibly, aching cheeks from the sheer enjoyment.

Power

• The Race Exhaust System alone provides notable performance enhancements, delivering a peak increase of 23whp and 19ft-lbs of torque. These gains are complemented by substantial power improvements throughout the midrange and at maximum RPMs. However, the performance gains become even more impressive when the exhaust system is paired with the Hydra Motor Works Stage 2 ECU tune. Together, they unleash extraordinary peak gains of 60whp and 26ft-lbs of torque, with maximum gains exceeding 60whp and 70ft-lbs of torque. These figures are truly exceptional, particularly for a naturally aspirated engine.
• It’s worth noting that the GT3’s factory configuration restricts power output in the lower RPM range as a protective measure for the factory GPF filters. However, by eliminating exhaust restrictions and optimizing the vehicle with an ECU tune, the true potential of the 4.0L engine is fully unlocked, resulting in these impressive performance gains.

Valve Control

• Removing the electronic valve actuators directly from the valves is not a viable option, as it would trigger a CEL and restrict the car’s rev limiter to 6,000rpm. However, a solution has been devised by the engineers in the form of valve simulators. These simulators have been specifically designed to facilitate the removal of the valves. By plugging the simulators into the factory valve harnesses, users can enjoy the benefit of a seamless installation without encountering any check engine lights or other associated issues.
