SOUL Performance Center Muffler Bypass for 997 Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 RS
The SOUL Performance Center Muffler Bypass for the 997 Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 RS frees the Mezger flat-six to sing without touching what makes the GT3 civil when you want it to be. SOUL hand-builds the section in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania from mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel, fixture-tests every unit for fit, and backs the original owner with a lifetime materials and workmanship warranty for street and track use. Because the bypass replaces only the center muffler, the factory side mufflers and their valves stay in place, so the OEM sport button still opens and closes the exhaust exactly as Porsche intended, quiet and composed on the valves, a hair-raising flat-six wail off them. It removes 11 pounds from the rear axle and bolts on in an afternoon, the kind of restrained, reversible upgrade a 997 GT3 deserves.
Development and Testing
SOUL built the Center Muffler Bypass to give the 997 GT3 more voice and flow without the cost or complexity of upgraded headers, and without surrendering the car’s dual personality; by keeping the factory valved side mufflers, the system lets owners run a loud, track-inspired tone with the valves open and a refined, drone-free cruise with them closed, with every unit validated on a fixture before it ships.
Construction
Each system is mandrel-bent from T304L stainless steel and connects to the factory side mufflers through SOUL’s AccuSeal clamps for a tight, leak-free seal, with new brackets and hardware included to locate everything precisely. The 3.5-inch tips are double-wall and offered in Black or Gunmetal to fill out the rear valance with an OEM-plus finish, and the whole section is fixture-tested and foam-packed so it arrives ready to install.
Bolt-On and Go
This is a direct bolt-on that a mechanically confident owner can complete in roughly two hours with the car on a lift, most of it spent removing the heavy factory center muffler; loosening the clamps at the side mufflers gives the clearance to drop the old section and fit the new one. Each unit ships fixture-tested with the hardware needed to complete the job.

Notes
This bypass replaces the factory center muffler only; the factory side mufflers and valves stay in place, so the OEM sport button still opens and closes the exhaust
With the valves closed the car stays civil and drone-free at a cruise, and with them open it takes on an aggressive flat-six wail
Pairs with upgraded headers for a track-inspired tone
This system increases exhaust volume; it is intended for off-road and track use and may not be legal where exhaust-noise limits apply
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the SOUL Performance Center Muffler Bypass fit my 997 GT3? Yes. The SOUL Performance Center Muffler Bypass fits the 997.1 and 997.2 Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 RS from 2007 to 2011, covering the 3.6L flat-six on the 997.1 and the 3.8L on the 997.2. It is a direct bolt-on that clamps to the factory side mufflers, so no cutting or welding is required.
Does it keep the factory sport button and valves? Yes. Because this is a center-muffler-only bypass, the factory valved side mufflers stay on the car, so the OEM sport button still opens and closes the exhaust. You keep quiet, composed running with the valves closed and a louder tone with them open, which is exactly what makes the GT3 livable day to day.
How loud is it, and will it drone? With the valves open it delivers an aggressive flat-six wail; with them closed it stays civil, and owners report no drone at cruising speed. Pairing the bypass with upgraded headers pushes the tone further toward a track-inspired character without adding cabin boom.
Is it a difficult install? It is a direct bolt-on that a confident owner can do in about two hours with a lift, with most of the time spent removing the heavy factory center muffler. Many owners still have a shop fit it to guarantee alignment and a clean seal at the AccuSeal clamps.
What is the SOUL Performance Center Muffler Bypass made from? It is mandrel-bent from T304L stainless steel and seals to the factory side mufflers with SOUL’s AccuSeal clamps, with new brackets and hardware included. SOUL backs the original owner with a lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship for street and track use.
What tip finishes are available? The 3.5-inch double-wall tips are offered in Black or Gunmetal to fill out the rear valance with an OEM-plus look. Choose the finish on the product page to match your car’s trim; the images for each finish show that exact tip so what you select is what ships.

Shipping Policy
-+
Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well.
For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
