SOUL Performance Center Muffler Bypass for 991 Porsche 911 GT3 / GT3 RS / R
The SOUL Performance Center Muffler Bypass for the 991 Porsche 911 GT3, GT3 RS, and 911 R opens up one of the greatest naturally aspirated flat-sixes Porsche has built, without disturbing the car’s road manners. SOUL hand-builds the section in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania from mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel, fixture-tests every unit for fit, and backs the original owner with a lifetime materials and workmanship warranty for street and track use. Because it swaps only the center muffler, the factory valved side mufflers stay on the car, so the OEM sport button still governs the exhaust, muted and civil when you want it, a searing high-rpm flat-six howl when you don’t. It drops 11 pounds from the rear and bolts on without a tune, the kind of precise, reversible upgrade a GT-car owner expects.
Development and Testing
SOUL built the Center Muffler Bypass to give the 991 GT3 more voice and flow without the cost of a full exhaust and without surrendering the car’s dual character; by keeping the factory valved side mufflers, owners run a louder, track-focused tone with the valves open and a refined, drone-free cruise with them closed, and SOUL reports no check engine lights across development and long-term road testing, with every unit validated on a fixture before it ships.
Construction
Each system is mandrel-bent from T304L stainless steel and mounts with a swinging-bridge, captive-nut and trunnion design on a high-strength stainless bolt, so the connection is both secure and serviceable. Mikalor Supra heavy-duty W4 clamps hold the section in place and SOUL’s AccuSeal clamps seal it to the factory side mufflers for a leak-free joint. The 4-inch tips are single-wall and offered in Straight Cut or Slash Cut across Signature Satin, Brushed Satin, and Satin Black finishes to set off the 991’s center-exit valance.
Bolt-On and Go
This is a direct bolt-on that a mechanically confident owner can complete in roughly three hours with the car on a lift, with most of the time spent removing the heavy factory center muffler and dialing in rear bumper clearance. Each unit ships fixture-tested and foam-packed with the clamps and hardware needed to finish the job.

Notes
This bypass replaces the factory center muffler only; the factory side mufflers and valves stay in place, so the OEM sport button still opens and closes the exhaust
With the valves closed it stays civil and drone-free at a cruise, and with them open it delivers a high-rpm flat-six howl
Pairs with upgraded headers for a track-focused tone
This system increases exhaust volume; it is intended for off-road and track use and may not be legal where exhaust-noise limits apply
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the SOUL Performance Center Muffler Bypass fit my 991 GT3? Yes. The SOUL Performance Center Muffler Bypass fits the 991.1 and 991.2 Porsche 911 GT3, GT3 RS, and the 911 R from 2014 to 2019, covering the 3.8L flat-six on the 991.1 GT3 and the 4.0L on the GT3 RS, 911 R, and 991.2 GT3. It is a direct bolt-on that clamps to the factory side mufflers, with no cutting or welding required.
Does it keep the factory sport button and valves? Yes. Because this is a center-muffler-only bypass, the factory valved side mufflers stay on the car, so the OEM sport button still opens and closes the exhaust. You keep quiet, composed running with the valves closed and a louder tone with them open, which is what makes a GT3 usable on the road.
How does it sound, and will it drone? It deepens the tone at low rpm and gets noticeably louder up top, while owners report no drone at motorway speed thanks to the retained valved side mufflers. Opening the valves brings a high-rpm flat-six howl; closing them keeps the car civil, and pairing with upgraded headers pushes the character further toward the track.
Is it a difficult install? It is a direct bolt-on that a confident owner can do in about three hours with a lift, with most of the time spent removing the heavy factory center muffler and setting rear bumper clearance. Many owners still have a shop fit it to guarantee alignment and a clean seal at the AccuSeal clamps.
What is the SOUL Performance Center Muffler Bypass made from? It is mandrel-bent from T304L stainless steel, mounted with a swinging-bridge trunnion design and Mikalor Supra clamps, and sealed to the factory side mufflers with SOUL’s AccuSeal clamps. SOUL backs the original owner with a lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship for street and track use.
What tip options are available? The 4-inch tips are single-wall and come in Straight Cut or Slash Cut, each finished in Signature Satin, Brushed Satin, or Satin Black. Choose the cut and finish on the product page to match your car; the images for each option show that exact tip so what you select is what ships.

The Bulletproof Automotive website contains many thousands of products purchased in multiple different currencies. All of the prices are entered manually and accurately at the time of entry. Due to the consistently fluctuating international exchange rates, at times prices may not be able to be honored at their original intended rate. Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well.
For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
