Development and Testing

SOUL set out to increase power and sound without triggering a check engine light. High-flow catalysts allow for exactly that. The SOUL Performance 991 Carrera sport cats were designed to have the best possible exhaust path with valves open in pursuit of maximum exhaust flow, with no compromises.

Power

SOUL approached AWE Tuning to test the development car at their facility for third-party dyno results. Gains of 12whp and 13ft-lbs of torque at 4,700 RPM were recorded on a 2017 Carrera 4S with no other modifications. Peak power was up by 14whp and 15ft-lbs. Much greater gains can be expected from the freer-flowing exhaust components when paired with a tune.

Construction

Each set is assembled in-house from mandrel-bent, thick-wall 0.065-inch T304L stainless steel. Back-purged TIG welding ensures proper weld penetration and long-term durability. Each set is tested in a fixture to guarantee fitment, then foam-packed to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. Factory turbo heat shields are retained.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse.
