RYFT’s carbon fiber engine compartment for Ferrari 296 GTB cars is made for the one area of the 296 that Ferrari wants people to look into: the bay under the three-dimensional glass engine cover, where the F163 V6 sits on display with its turbochargers inside the 120-degree vee. On the road this part is invisible. We would point it at owners who open the rear for friends and at shows, and who treat the engine as part of the design of the car.

Design

Ferrari built the F163 as a hot-vee engine, placing the turbochargers between the cylinder banks, which puts the most heat-critical hardware in the upper center of the bay. The designers then chose a transparent engine cover so the new layout stays visible. RYFT’s 296 engine compartment brings 1×1 weave carbon to the surfaces the glass reveals, so the bay looks finished in the same material as the RYFT exterior pieces.

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule.
