What does the Super Lock LSD with 4.4 Final Gear include?

It includes the OS Giken Super Lock clutch-type differential and a 4.4 final gear set, so the differential and the ring and pinion are changed in the same transaxle job. The Super Lock LSD with 4.4 Final Gear is listed for the six-speed NA2 NSX.

How does a 4.4 final change the car?

A numerically higher final drive raises engine speed at any road speed, so the NSX accelerates harder in every gear and stays closer to the power band out of corners. The trade-off is higher rpm when cruising on the freeway.

Which is better, the 4.4 or the 4.62?

The 4.62 is the shorter ratio and gives the stronger acceleration, suiting tight circuits and autocross. The 4.4 is a milder step that keeps freeway cruising more relaxed. Choose based on where the car spends most of its time. Both share the same differential.

Will the speedometer still read correctly?

Changing the final drive changes the relationship between output shaft speed and road speed, so the speedometer can read differently afterwards. Plan for recalibration, and Bulletproof Automotive can advise on the options when the job is quoted. Ask when booking the installation.

Does it fit the five-speed NA1?

No. This version with an included final gear is listed for the six-speed NA2. The five-speed and six-speed NSX share a Super Lock without a final gear, part number HA101-HA, which suits owners who want to keep the factory ratio.

Description

OS Giken Super Lock LSD with 4.4 Final Gear for NA2 Acura NSX 6MT

OS Giken’s Super Lock LSD with 4.4 Final Gear for NA2 Acura NSX 6MT pairs a clutch-type differential with a moderately shorter ring and pinion, the measured choice for a six-speed NSX that is driven on the road as much as on track. The C32B V6 rewards revs, and the 4.4 final keeps it closer to its power band out of corners while leaving freeway cruising rpm reasonable. Because the transaxle has to be opened for either part, OS Giken supplies both together and the job is done once. The Super Lock keeps both rear tires driving through its patented pressure ring. Pick this ratio for a road-biased NSX; the 4.62 is the sharper track choice.

Why Change the Final Drive

Fitting a final gear set means opening the transaxle, which is also when the differential comes out. Doing both in one job saves labor. A shorter final drive raises engine speed for a given road speed, improving acceleration in every gear at the cost of higher cruising rpm on the freeway.

Includes a 4.4 final gear set
Shorter overall gearing for quicker acceleration in every gear

Applications

Acura NSX: NA2 | 1997-2005 | 3.2L C32B V6, six-speed manual

Notes

The Super Lock LSD with 4.4 Final Gear is listed for six-speed NA2 cars only
The final gear set is included; the speedometer may need recalibration with a different final drive

Shipping Policy

Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance. Due to the wide number of variables between manufacturer and shipping schedules, delivery estimates are simply just that – estimates. We attempt to estimate conservatively and we usually deliver faster than our estimates suggest. It is not Bulletproof’s policy to guarantee delivery time of any special order item, this is impossible for us to do. By ordering you acknowledge that there is no required delivery ETA and an order may not be canceled or altered due to manufacturing or shipping delays, all ETA’s are provided as a best guess only. BP Pricing Difference

We do pricing a little differently on our JDM brands and we believe in making things simple and clear. No hidden fees or surcharges. Every price you see includes the shipping cost to our office in Los Angeles, California and all the associated taxes/duties/fees for bringing the products into the US. The only shipping you ever pay is from our facility in the US to your location. Be wary of resellers that don’t include the cost of international shipping in their pricing on JDM parts. While we believe we’ll always have the lowest all-in price on JDM products, we offer a price match guarantee for all authentic parts purchased from authorized dealers as well. For many international customers, it’s much more affordable to ship from the USA than from Japan directly, as the air freight and ocean freight costs are typically much less. However, for customers looking to ship directly from Japan outside of North America, or domestically in Japan, we can provide pricing specifically for that scenario. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any pricing questions or concerns. Please email us at sales@bulletproofautomotive.com with any inquiries.
