Nitron NTR-R1 FastRoad Coilover Kit for S2 Lotus Exige S

The supercharger changes how an Exige S uses its suspension. There’s strong torque from low revs, so the car reaches every corner faster and brakes harder into it than the naturally aspirated S2. Worn dampers struggle with that extra load. The nose dives under braking, the rear squats and wriggles on corner exit, and the car takes too long to settle over bumps at speed. The Nitron Exige S NTR-R1 FastRoad kit gives the S hand-built coilovers that are sprung and valved for fast road driving. Weight transfer under hard braking and hard acceleration stays under control, and the ride is still compliant enough for long drives. A single adjuster at each corner of the Nitron Exige S NTR-R1 sets bump and rebound together. You can firm it up for a quick mountain road or back it off for broken highway pavement in a few clicks. The kit also gives the factory splitter and rear wing a stable platform at speed. Mounting brackets are included, supplied for your car’s drive side.

Unique Technology

Inside each Nitron Exige S NTR-R1 damper is hardware developed in Nitron’s race department, much of it shared with the NTR-R3 that Nitron fields in international motorsport. The gas charge and oil sit within the damper body, which keeps the kit self-contained with no external canister. Each damper runs inverted. More of its mass is carried by the chassis rather than the wheel, so the tires can stay in contact over rough surfaces. Very low internal friction means the Nitron Exige S NTR-R1 begins damping with the first movement of the wheel. That’s how it settles the car the moment the supercharger’s torque arrives at corner exit, and how it absorbs small, sharp bumps that would otherwise come straight through the seat. Damping stays consistent when the oil is hot, too, so a long, fast run feels the same at the end as it did at the start.

Each damper is fully serviceable, and the kit can be upgraded to a firmer track or race specification later if the Exige S starts spending more time on circuits. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
