Nitron Front Adjustable Top Plates for C307 Ford Focus RS

On a hard-driven Mk 2 Focus RS, the front tires wear out on their outside edges before anything else. That happens because the factory strut mounts give you almost no say in where the top of the strut sits. Nitron’s adjustable Mk 2 Focus RS Top Plates fix that at the source. They replace the soft rubber front mounts with a rigid aluminum plate that lets you set both camber and caster at the strut top. A nose-heavy front-driver like the RS asks a lot of its front tires, which have to steer, brake and put power down all at once. A bit of extra negative camber keeps more of each tire’s contact patch working through a long corner, and adding caster improves steering weight and stability under braking. With the Nitron Mk 2 Focus RS Top Plates you can dial in exactly the amount you want, and you can also leave the car at standard geometry if you prefer. They are sold as a pair for the front axle and finished in Nitron’s titanium grey anodizing.

Rubber-Free Construction

Factory top mounts rely on rubber to soak up vibration. Under heavy load, that rubber flexes and lets the strut top move, so the alignment you set in the shop drifts by the time you reach the apex. Nitron leaves the rubber out of their Mk 2 Focus RS Top Plates entirely. Positive location and adjustment mechanisms lock the strut where you put it, so the geometry stays the same from the first braking zone to the last. You also feel what the front tires are doing more directly through the wheel. The trade-off is a little more road noise, which most owners who track their RS are happy to accept.

Special order items from overseas take considerably longer.
