Camber and caster decide how a Mark II Escort turns in and how well it holds a line, and Nitron’s Mark II Ford Escort Top Plates put both under your control at the front strut. The Mark II runs MacPherson struts up front, so the top of the strut is where those angles can be set without changing the rest of the suspension. These plates are sold as a pair for the front axle, and they are made for owners who have lowered the car, fitted stiffer springs and want the front geometry set properly instead of settled for. Fit them to Nitron coilovers and you can dial in the stance and the handling in the same session.

Rubber-Free Construction

Standard strut top mounts use rubber, and rubber flexes when the car is loaded. These plates are rubber-free, so there is nothing soft between the strut and the body to change the alignment under cornering or braking. Steering response comes through more directly, and the settings you choose at the alignment bay are the ones the car actually runs. The trade is that you will feel and hear more of the road than you would with rubber in the mounts.

Machined for Nitron Coilovers

The plates are designed around Nitron coilovers and fit them as intended. Dampers from other makers can be a different story, and they may need modification before the plates will work with them. If you are running another brand, check that before ordering.

Each plate is machined from aluminum and finished in titanium grey anodizing, so it looks as good as it works and stands up to the weather. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule. These estimates represent our best guess based on previous orders from the manufacturer and do not in any way imply a guaranteed delivery window. Many manufacturers work in a “just in time” inventory system and often take 2-20+ weeks to produce an item once an order is submitted. All deliverable items are then sent to our Japanese warehouse. Bulletproof ships a minimum of one full ocean freight container every month from Japan, oftentimes more than one a month. Ocean freight takes an average of 4 weeks. Typically it breaks down to one week in Japan for paperwork and customs, two weeks by boat and one week in US customs/clearance.
