Honda set up the FD2 for smooth Japanese circuits, and on anything rougher the car shows it. The factory suspension is stiff enough to send every expansion joint straight into the seat, yet it still runs out of control when a fast corner has bumps in it. Nitron’s FD2 Type R NTR-R1 Coilover Kit takes a different approach. Instead of high spring rates paired with dampers that can’t keep up, Nitron matches the springs and valving to each other, so the car can be firm and still move with the road. The rear is a full coilover, with the spring around the damper body, which gives you proper control of ride height and corner weights at the back as well as the front. A single adjuster at each corner sets bump and rebound together, that makes the Nitron FD2 Type R NTR-R1 quick to set up whether the car is commuting all week or lapping Sunday morning.

Unique Technology

Nitron’s race department is where the NTR-R1 came from. It carries over much of the internal hardware from the NTR-R3 that Nitron runs in international motorsport, with the remote canister left off. For the FD2, that keeps each corner compact and the install free of hose routing. Because the internals have very little friction, the Nitron NTR-R1 damper starts working at the first millimeter of travel instead of waiting for a big enough hit. Items that are in stock in the US, either at Bulletproof’s warehouse or at a supplier’s warehouse, are generally delivered within 7-10 days. Special order items from overseas take considerably longer. As a courtesy Bulletproof offers delivery estimates to our customers which take into consideration manufacturer availability and shipping schedule.
